NHL team expectations (TBL 8.1 database)

Post by Rosenvold »

Hello all,

I'm new to this forum and not an Expert on hockey either, so I hope you will be able to help out a little bit. I had a great game on EHM:EA with the Rangers. I won a couple of Stanley Cups, slowly got around rebuilding the squad and really learned the game.

Now that the game is released I would like a stronger challenge. On earlier EHM's I had some fun rebuilding games, and I would like that again. But I'm having a hard time figuring out which NHL-teams that would allow 1-2 seasons of "bottoming out".

It seems that only Buffalo expects me to "improve the roster" during season one. A lot of teams expect "respectable League positions" - but how much is that? Will I be able to take one "bottoming out"-season and then improve slowly through seasons 2-3?

I have considered trying Toronto as their team seems to need a lot of work and as they have a lot of contracts expiring in 2016, but I'm not sure that they would accept 1 or 2 poor seasons? (I would prefer not to use the "disallow human sacking" it at all possible)

And a last note - can I create a future-strong franchise through a Fantasy Draft and then be allowed some years to build up?

Any help is appreciated :)

Started as the Coyotes recently. Was expected to improve the roster in the first season and it wasn't a good one. Was expected to reach a respectable League position in season two, but it was even worse than the 1st one and finished dead last. Still kept my job, though. I'm expected to make the playoffs now.
