Quick question: Can we trade draft picks for players?

Nope. You can't apply for any national teams.

Yes, you can trade draft picks for players as long as you follow all of the other trade rules.

This looks like fun so decided to jump on. :-) Never done one of these challenges before so should be refreshing. Is there a season limit to these challenges btw?

Actually just made it through game 20. Gone decent so far with a 12-8-0 record, sit 9th in the conference. Suprised to see Zatkoff doing so well as the backup...maybe should make him a starter...but then he'll probably fail me.

That's good cause I'm in season 4 and my team is dreadful, and there's nobody at the top of the draft. Hopefully I get a good pick and can trade it for someone good after the lottery.

You should make sure you log your stats. If you haven't uploaded your stats you won't get credit for those season.

There really isn't a season limit but we do tend to see these challenges go no further than 7 seasons. People play at different paces. Some will zip right through and others will plod along, finishing only a season or two. We only count seasons where at least 4 people have completed the season and logged their stats.

Wow, this team looks like the type I never get any success with. At least I had Milano score 43 goals in the last challenge! =D>

So Greenville is out of bounds? I dont want three goalies in Rochester so I want to throw some guys out in Greenville to make space.
Yes, I think adding a third GM for Greenville is a bit much. You can assign a goalie there without GMing the team or you could loan your third goalie out.
So I understood the wording correctly then. Another clarification, do the all-american staff rule apply also to Rochester?

I thought about getting DeBrincat because i needed RW depth but i decided to go for BPA instead and got Brown + Keller with my picks.

We'll see about him, he's only 18 so I'm not rushing him... Goaltending is a real issue in season 2 after trading away Miller and Zatkoff left for FA. Sparks is my starter with Mccollum as his backup. Shotty defence too with me trading Yandle+K.Hayes for Bjugstad.

Line-Up heading into Season 2:

Zucker-Stepan-Atkinson
Kreider-Bjugstad-Callahan
Miller-Arcobello-Barber
Bollig-Brickley-Hayes

McDonagh-Braum
Leddy-Lashoff
McCabe-Schmaltz

Sparks
McCollum

Yay, second pre-season game and Kreider is out for three months with a partially torn MCL. Did I hear somebody say "tanking"?

Time to show the good old red white and blue!

PS doing other countries in other challenges would be fun too.

I had him and Atkinson get injured in my second season and it ruined that season for me.

I didn't do too much yet. Hayes and Nelson wanted to leave due to the poor results. I rejected better offers for Hayes, but all of them included 2017 picks. Nelson was traded after the draft, so I accepted a 2017 1st for him. The 2016 draft was pretty useless, Keller being the only decent player available for me. The other guys were picked on determination only.

Satyr, here is the proper thread for the screenshots. The needed screens are: standings, regular season player stats, trades, finances (in USD, I think) and Playoffs(if you made it)

Haven't reached the draft yet, but will have to check him out a bit more. Had two scouts looking at him so far and they have very different opinions on him to say the least. One rates him at 4* and the other 2*.

Still in the hunt, I can smell a playoff push! After 40 games we sit 3rd in our division, but far from safe with a couple of teams right outside the PO spots just a few points out. Finally have gotten my 1st line going and it seems Miller is slowly but surly playing a bit better as well. It's funny though, when our PP is doing really good our PK is falling and vise versa. #-o Can't seem to get the team to play good in both at the same time. My trading finger is itchy, but guess I will have to contain myself until the draft comes around.

Satyr, you should probably change from € to $ for this challenge.

MWE, maybe if you split up your TOI a bit injuries won't decide your season as they seem to have done this time.

I haven't drafted yet but he's turned out pretty good in past saves I've had (different DB versions though).

I was thinking we could try an "All Euro" team at some point. Or maybe "All Scandanavian"? We'll have to find the appropriate team to take over. Keep it in mind and we can brainstorm before the next challenge.
