Minstrel Hockey League 2015-16
Figured it was time to start a new thread.
We have a new owner for the Toronto Maple Laughs. Iqbal let me know he hasn't got the time for the league and I am bringing in Jesse to take his spot.
Rookies for 2014-15 are: Jesse, Ryan and Matt S.
Good luck everyone!

Welcome to all the rookies!
The biggest bust of the season so far for me, by far, is Hamilton. He provides one thing only, "minus".
Thornton, Niemi and some other guys are still high on my transfer list. Two excellent consistent players that just dont perform in the categories I want.

Every injury prone player gets his value slashed pretty bad here.m0fownz0r wrote:boy, it's a shame, how much people underrate Krejci around here...

That;s the second time someone here tell me Krejci is injury prone.. Where is this coming from? It's simply not true. Other than last season he hasn't missed much, if any, time....visualdarkness wrote:Every injury prone player gets his value slashed pretty bad here.m0fownz0r wrote:boy, it's a shame, how much people underrate Krejci around here...

Re: Minstreal Hockey League 2015-16
I think it was ESPN that put a question mark on his health at the start of the season and it probably lived on, blame them. His average drafted position is pretty low to compared to his stats so even that indicates something. Risk for relapse is probably a better choice of wording rather than prone.

Hey guys, do you ever get that feeling of..regret, I guess, immediately after you make a trade and look for different reasons to justify it?

Not only after a trade. I feel anxious during negotiations, too. Too anxious, probably, as I make very few tradesm0fownz0r wrote:Hey guys, do you ever get that feeling of..regret, I guess, immediately after you make a trade and look for different reasons to justify it?

Re: Minstreal Hockey League 2015-16
Yeah Manimal is a wimp when it comes to trades. Edit: Meant to put a smiley face here, but forgot.....
I never felt nervous or regret when I was in this. Just anger at the clowns who thought I was always trying to rip them off, who did not get that there was more to doing well in this game than just scoring points, and the publicity those guys get in the news. One of the players that was ALWAYS The most valuable when I played in it was Scott Hartnell...a guy who did EVERYTHING at the time. But few people realized this type of player was at least as valuable as say....Henrik Sedin. In fact if anyone ever offered a player like Henrik straight up for Hartnell, the guy with Henrik should be jumping all over that deal. Never did though.
A guy who scores 25 goals and 40 assists with 30 PP Points, while getting 100PIM and taking 3 shots per game, plus blocking the odd shot on the PK was way more valuable than a guy who scores only in one category.
Really need to watch that you are not over valuing your goal scorers, playmakers....if they do nothing else .... they are not necessarily as valuable as that 2nd line guy who puts up stuff in all areas. Alex Burrows was another one of those back in the day that did a little of everything. But would never have fetched you a top line guy like Thornton...even though...Burr would help you win more.

Re: Minstreal Hockey League 2015-16
I find that amusing as well. People being insulted when you try trade for their guy that puts some points on the board, while being invisible on the ice, for guys that may score less but produce bunch of stats.. Anyways, at least this gives you better access to such playersbatdad wrote:Yeah Manimal is a wimp when it comes to trades. Edit: Meant to put a smiley face here, but forgot.....![]()

Speaking of which, now that I traded for Shattenkirk, I'm going to have a hard time picking my 3D keepers for next yearm, with Burns, Faulk, Hamonic and now - Shattenkirk.

Sean Couturier was a nice pick-up for tonights game. a goal, an assist +3 3shots.
Would have been even nicer if I had bothered to get him dressed...

Meanwhile, in my other league, I picked up Brock Nelson for the night and he went on to score a hatrick, assist, +3 rating, 2 PIMs,1 PPP.. all that on 4 shots

Me again
Does trading draft picks become available only after the regular season ends?

Re: Minstreal Hockey League 2015-16
Looks like we had a blockbuster trade during the weekend
HDN traded Evgeni Malkin, Pit to BBS
HDN traded Carey Price*, Mon to BBS
BBS traded Tyler Seguin, Dal to HDN
BBS traded Cam Ward, Car to HDN
I'm not sure I'd lose Seguin for Price, when I have Holtby, though.

Biggest trade i have seen but quite lopsided in my eyes. But who knows? Heatly and Cheechoo were both elite once upon a time.

I have veto'd the deal for now.
I want to hear some reasoning from the two involved managers. Please send me PM with your thoughts

Re: Minstreal Hockey League 2015-16
Well, he can still trade Price/Holtby for a nice return after the season, I guess.
However, unless one gets to keep Price, this deal seems pretty odd.
