Rules & Info: Fantasy Draft Challenge (New Info!)

Post by Minstrel »

Okay gents, fire up your EHM 2007 3.0.1 (that's the patch version) and get working on your newest Challenge; which will be a Fantasy Draft Challenge!!

You can chose to take over as GM for any team in the Conference, so this gives you to one-time-only option to take over as GM of any of the five teams in the Northeast Division! That gives people the choice of running hteir fantasy draft as GM of the Bruins, Canadiens, Maple Leafs, Sabres or Senators.

All standard Challenge rules will apply. Here's the extra setup info just for this Challenge though:

Initial Setup: You can choose to run as many leagues at 'Enhanced'/Standard/Neither as you'd like but you have to at least have NHL, AHL, ECHL and Canada's Juniors (OHL, WHL, QMJHL) set to Enhanced. That means you can start at August 15th instead of the 31st if you'd like. Make sure you check 'Start With Fantasy Draft', Real Names and Enabled Fog of War, you should also retain the default 'Snaking Draft Order' option.

Next up is the Fantasy Draft options page:

In 'General Options' select 'Use Maximum For All' in 'Team Finances' and 'Use Database Values' for Team Reputation. Check the box for 'Include Prospects'.

Click the 'Randomize Order' option a few times to mix things up. Then go ahead and give yourself the first pick in the draft if you want 8-) Select your team name and then click on whoever is in first currently and you will swap places with them. You can arrange the rest however you want really but you should put the other four Northeast Division teams in the #2 - #6 slots because it would too easy to give your competition the last picks in the draft right? :-p

Click 'ok'

Next choose your team from the NHL Northeast Division and set yourself up as GM. If you are going to want to play your AHL team as well you should add your AHL GM at this time as well (we give the option to run your AHL team if you choose).

Before you exit your draft you should go to your 'My Team' view and take a screenshot of your first two screens of player selections so we know you did the draft. After you get through your draft the standard Challenge Rules apply. There will be no finances penalties for this Challenge since you'll be allowed to spend to the Cap.

Still you can only trade your picks for the 2007 draft. You can choose to 'Coach' or not coach your team but you cannot go on 'Vacation' at any time. All transacations must be made by you at all times. Recording will follow the same system, read through the announce threads. Play as if you plan to be running this team for at least three years.

Sorry for the delay in recording; I hope to get most of it done today.

The entry deadline for the Challenge is upon us; we won't accept any new entrants due to the impending release of the new patch. When released you can run it when you wish, those that wait should at least make sure you are running under the new patch if you choose to continue on to a second season. This also means that the bonus points deadline for Games 1-20 is in two weeks, which I don't think anyone will have a problem with and whenever everyone has 1-20 in I'll calc those points for us. That means the second bonus points will be run on December 3, so people wanting to qualify for them need to be finsihed with their games through game 60 at that point.
