It won't stop it, they'll just find something about the new patch to whine about...

However, it will be cool to get the new patch out officially

Hopefully they reduce the shots and goals, because the average right now is probably 7.5 goals per game, and 70-80 shots per game.

They've tweaked the hell out of scoring and PIM in most leagues I know. You can check in on the updated patch info list here in the first post of the patch changelist thread:

When the patch comes out, how will it affect the Fantasy Draft challenge?

It will only affect unequally those that have not begun yet and start a new game under the patch, so we'll be cutting enrollment in the Challenge at that point. But you can apply the patch as soon as you want to in your game but we'll probably make sure that people at least runt he patch before continuing on with a second season if they choose to.

Thats a lot of shots, about 30-40 per team is about right. And those goals aren't too far off, NHL was about 6.2 per game last season.

Thank you Minstrel. That brings up another Question. Will I get added time to demo the game the way it will now be?With all the bugs I would not buy it now,but if they get fixed I will buy the game.Do you think they will give people like me playiing the demo added time on their demo to decide if they like the new game?If you cant answer this question who should I ask?

I think the amount of time they give you is sufficient.

Isn't it like 60 days? :-?

LOL!!!

Cmon, the game is really worth the little money it costs!! And more if u compare it with the prices that other games have...

Really, I think SIGA is quite polite in let us try the game during that period and its more than enough to know if u like it or not!!!

...as for the comments in the SIGA forum: it really makes me laugh!!! I have seen such stupid comments like the game was UNPLAYABLE!!!! Cmon!!!! The game isnt perfect as it is right now, but Its still a loooooooooooooot of fun....just imagine when all the little bugs are fixed!!!

"Unplayable" seems to be the new word all of them have attatched themselves too, last design cycle it was terming things as "serious dealbreakers" and overempheising your points by claiming things to be "key features". New dev cycle, new terminology same ole overinflated bitching :dunno:

Really there are like three people that for some reason have taken up residence at the SI Forum to continually put forth their arguments about how the game is "unplayable" :yadda: but keep in mind that most of it is as The Bard would say "sound and fury signifying nothing". People with negative comments always make sure they get them heard and as loudly and frequently as possible but for every person who won't let it go until everyone declares them a genius and SI comes over to anoint their feet with oils and buy them a mansion for their trouble there's a hundred people at home making the decision between wroking through another week's worth of the game and sleep.

So the view of the game you get from actually just playing it and evaluating it for yourself and from just reading the ongoing and increasingly rediculous war a few people are waging against reality are vastly different. To use a timely example it's like watching these politcal ads on TV where back to back each candidate tells you how stupid, uniformed, unworthy of the position and morally bankrupt his opponent is using any possible issue they can scream about loudly.

This happened last year, the year before and this year and let me say that the patch will not stop it; only give them something else to pain about all the while never mentioning a single good aspect of the game or that literally hundreds of improvements were made for the patch. :dunno: I don't get into it at this point and actually these are the last comments I'm making about it for this dev cycle. I just do it because I want people to take an accurate instead of skewed view of the game. :dunno:

I agree with you 110% Minty. If you look on the official boards of almost any game, the whiners far out-number the people who like the game. For example, on the Oblivion forums, there are tons of threads about how much the game sucks, when in my opinion it is one of the best games I've ever played (not including EHM of course).

The fact is that when people are happy, they are usually quiet. It's only when there is something wrong that people speak up. And there are those who just yell for the sake of hearing themselves yell. Most people who are enjoying the game are too busy playing the game to care about whining or posting threads on forums. Most negative stuff I read on the internet I take worth a grain of salt.

Unplayable? Hardly. I've been playing this "unplayable" game for quite some time now and am having a blast. A patch is simply gravy for me at this point.

The funny thing is that everyone complains that the game crashes on certain dates etc etc. I have never ever had a game crash. I don't know if I am just lucky or if it's because I try to have my CPU clean of spyware, bad code, registerchanges etc etc.

I have yet to see a crash, too. In fact, I have yet to see about 98% of the "major problems" that people are reporting. :dunno:

I still hope we see the patch soon, though, because I see no sense in starting or continuing a game when there's a patch right around the corner... so eventhough my game isn't killed by bugs, I'm still "unable" to play anything.

I've had the game crash on me about 6-8 times. Since like May :dunno: Most of those were realll early when we were playing versions that for example didn't even have the 2d engine hooked up yet or were due to a crash cropping up from a new build. I never had a "on a certain date" crash in two years now of testing and tons of personal playing.

And of course while I've opened myself to discussing this topic I'll also add that anyone who wants to claim the game was "obviously not tested" can have a look at my 150+ resolved reports from this past testing cycle alone and I'm just an external tester :swamped:
