About a month or two ago, I conversed with an active member of TBL about database editing (basic tips and tricks) so that I could carry out an idea that I've had since purchasing EHM: EA. The idea I was looking to make a reality was creating a "wasteland" roster database, now you might be wondering what I mean by saying "wasteland".
My "wasteland" idea entailed reducing the level of player skill in the NHL, to bring it in line with the remainder of the hockey world. Instead of editing all of the players to bring their skills down, which would be a massive project, I instead aimed to remove ALL players at the NHL level. This would mean that the NHL rosters were effectively empty when the season started, forcing teams to call up their prospects and AHL talent, along with any free agents available, to be able to ice a full team. This would also create a chain reaction over the years of play by shifting overseas talent back towards the NHL. The final outcome was a NHL with new star players built from the "rubble" and allowing myself/others to mold a team from the ground up.
The database I edited was the 2014-2015 TBL Roster v7.4c and all credit for base work goes to the people that brought it together, but I wanted to see if there were any others who might be interested in trying out my edit. I don't have the file uploaded anywhere yet, but if there is interest in it, I will!

I would actually be very interested in this idea. I tried doing this myself with the database editor, and even exiling a team or two from the league to bring others in (such as how the KHL works). Unfortunately I have always had corrupted database issues when importing. I would be very interested in testing.

That sounds very interesting. I'm a little late to the party, but if you're still working on this or otherwise can make it available I'd like to try it.

An idea for you if you'd want to lower the skills of all NHL players.
You could export all NHL players (with the Updater) then reduce the players attributes (not the non-changing) and CA/PA a certain percentage (in Excel). Then import them again to the database with the reduced attributes/CA/PA. The new attributes might not exactly fit with the new CA/PA but it would be close.
