Re: How's it going in EHM:EA? What team are you?
Currently topping both the EPIHL and League Cup tables in my MK Lightning Game. Trying to get Frankie Bakerlyk to score more now Jarolin my top-scorer has moved on.
Rangers game is a bit harder-going; sitting 3rd in my conference and Lundquist has had a few bad games that cost us? Miller and Fast tearing it up though and showing the more established players the way at the moment.

Started my 18-19 season with the Yotes, Malcolm Subban as my starting goaltender and Vasilevskiy as my backup after the Lightning let him walk without making a qualifying offer. So 2 5 star goaltenders in my pocket. I'm in 1st in the West with 9 points in 6 games. Nice to finally be a good team.

Halfway through my first season with the Habs and also running the IceCaps and Beast.
The Beast are doing terrible, the IceCaps were doing well but have fallen out of playoff contention.
The Habs started awful but are now 5th in their conference.
Hunting for a better coach. Plekanac leading the team along with Greening (who I picked up). Having trouble resigning John Scott.
This is my first playthrough and I probably took on too much.

Yeah picking up 3 teams for your first game is probably a bit much, but it's a good way to learn too.Kersus wrote:Halfway through my first season with the Habs and also running the IceCaps and Beast.

Season 3 with the steelers done
Finished rock bottom of the league
Was knocked out of the challenge cup at the first knockout round by Fife - we lost 8-2
Time to get rid of some of the dead wood and bring in some new players
Ryan HAyes was top scorer with 36 points from 55 games

Re: How's it going in EHM:EA? What team are you?
I started with the Pittsburgh Penguins and won 2 Cups in a row right away. In the 3rd year I lost in the ECF and in the 4th I threw a 3-0 lead after a bad regular season and went out in the first round. Got fired right after that and could only find a new team at the end of the season. They got relegated in Austria though so I decided to resign. I'm not in the 24/25 and can't find a job. My reputation is good, like I'm #18 in the international ranking. Seems weird that I can't find a job. I'm on vacation but have the apply option activated. Did someone have similar problems?

Columbus Blue Jackets. Been a rough time for my team, however now I am adjusting tactics a bit more and getting better results. Managed to nag Filip Forsberg from FA when he was 25 years old so he's running the top line with me. Also have finalyl brought in the rookes I drafted in the 15-16,16-17 season. It's been fun. Probably longest I've rolled with a team. Also took control of Lake Eries too and they are dominating the AHL.

Re: How's it going in EHM:EA? What team are you?
Long time reader and long time player, have been playing since about a month after EHM 2005 came out. Anyways, decided to go ahead to take control of my favourite team the Buffalo Sabres. Out of all the years I have been playing this game this is the first time I have played as them, I normally playing as a random Canadian Hockey League team or random NHL for fun, I was always worried that if I was the Sabres it wouldn't be as fun.
Training Camp
- Decided to max out my training camp, there were 70 players in total, including 26 tryout players, most were my own prospects that were not off at College, I invited several OHL, WHL, QMJHL overage players as well. I was even approached by BJ.Crombeens agent to give him a tryout.. of course I did, just to fill up space. During training camp most players did well, there were a few walk-ons that were cut before pre-seasons games even started due to lack of fitness etc. Tryout Aaron Berisha got heavy praise from Dan Bylsma, he was the only player that stayed right to the end of camp, I had a tough decision to make on whether or not I wanted to sign him or not, but with the amount of prospects I already have I decided to hold off.
Results of my Training Camp:
1) Evander Kane 5 Points in 4 Games.
2) Ryan O'Rielly 5 Points in 4 Games.
3) Aaron Berisha 4 Points in 4 Games (Hard to get rid of him based on how well he did in the 4 scrimmages, if he is not signed buy anyone during the season and improves attributes wise I will invite him back to camp again)
Once training camp ended I had a tough decision to make, I had 5 goalies and had to decide who would be my backup behind Lehner. I decided to go with Johnson for now, I have Ullmark as my starter for Rochester ahead of Lieuwen also for now. That left Makarov, he is a solid goalie that I just didn't want to get rid of yet, I offered him out on loan to the ECHL Indy Fuel, he accepted. Heres hoping he does well down there. At the end of camp I was also sitting at 18 AHL forwards, just far too high for me, had to make another tough decision and decide who I wanted to part ways with, I ended up releasing Jack Nevins and Evan Rodriguez.
Pre-Season
- I ended up going 1-3-1, my only win came against the Bruins 3-2. It was a rough pre-season but I spent most of the games playing my tryout's or my AHL players to see how they would fair. The final game I played my starting lineup for the season, it was the only game I won. Jack Eichel was the top performer in the Pre-Season, he played in 2 games and registered 3 goals and 1 assist.
I made one trade during the pre-season however I was trying to move Carlo Coliacavo but with no luck, so for now he is going to be my 7th D-Man.
To Philadelphia:
- Nick Deslauriers
To Buffalo:
-Scott Laughton.
I was surprised that they bit on this trade, I offered to all to see what responses I would get, originally the Flyers offered my a 2016 3rd and a 2018 4th. I dropped those and went straight for Laughton and they accepted. Laughton will start my season on the 2nd line, if he produces he will stay if not I will send him down for some seasoning.
End of Pre-Season
- Season preview came out and I was expecting to be in 29th or 30th however I was surprised to find out I was 24th, still not great but we will see what happens come April. My MVP selection was Evander Kane and the Key new arrival was Ryan O'Rielly as expected.
- Top Players by position / Prospects - Of course as expected non of my players made the list however two of my prospects made that list. Eichel made it to 2nd only behind McDavid and Reinhart made it to 5th.
Start of Season
- No games have been played yet, will post an update at the 20 game mark. However here is my starting lineup for opening day.
Kane - O'Rielly - Ennis
Reinhart - Eichal - Laughton
Moulson - Girgensons - Foligno
McGinn - Legwand - Gionta
Kaleta (13th Man)
Bogosian - Ristolainen
Gorges - Franson
Weber - Pysyk
Coliacavo (7th Man)
Starter: Lehner
Backup: Johnson

Re: How's it going in EHM:EA? What team are you?
Finished the 2018-2019 with my Coyotes. Things finally came together and we won the President's trophy. Went to the playoffs, won the first series against the Sharks 4-1, swept the second series against the Flames, and then swept the 2nd place Avs in the conference final. Went on to the cup against the Hurricanes (2 seed in the East) and won the Stanley Cup in 6 games. Now on to my question of the offseason, do I trade Vasilevskiy or keep him to keep the best goaltending tandem in the NHL together? Subban is better, but having 2 elite goalies is nice and I'm not up against the cap or anything.

Re: How's it going in EHM:EA? What team are you?
FINALLY! The Cup is back in Edmonton. A 30-year-drought ended.
Started out with the Oilers in the 15/16 season: Got rid of some old contracts such as Ference and Nikitin, brought in Zack Kassian for Ben Scrivens (just like IRL). Signed both Anders Nilsson and Cam Talbot to 4y-deals and they would be my tandem up to now. That was basically it. Made it as the Western #1 seed into the play-offs there and to the Conference Finals luckily. Had no business getting that deep actually and lost to the Blackhawks.
16/17: As Draisaitl pushed for the 2nd line I traded away Nugent-Hopkins to the Devils for some futures. The big UFA addition was Steven Stamkos signing him to 47m/6y. At the deadline I added Cody Franson and Antoine Vermette to bolster my roster for the play-offs. Ended up as the #6 Western seed. A disappointing 1st-round exit followed.
17/18: Re-signed Draisaitl to a 16.4/4y bridge deal, Griffin Reinhart to a 12.5/5y bargain deal, later in the season Darnell Nurse for 13m/5y and McDavid for 18.8m/4y. Went into the play-offs again as the #1 Western seed with high expectations. Got eliminated in round 2
18/19: Got rid of Sekera, signed a bunch of prospects for the AHL-affiliate, Eberle to 27m/4y and some minor roster changes. Won the President's Trophy for the first time, but went out again in round 2.
19/20: A crowded Entry Draft, where I could select 15 players. Did not re-new Todd McLellan's contract as head coach and signed Michel Therrien instead. Signed Matthew Tkachuk to a 23.1m/7y offer sheet (1st and 3rd rounder compensation) in October, traded away Yakupov in December due to a lack of improvment, acquired Henrik Samuelsson at the deadline. Draisaitl requested a trade, because I criticized Hall. Won the President's Trophy again. Faced in round 2 a very strong Canucks-team (including Seguin 24g50a, Jamie Benn 30g52a, Jake Virtanen 55g42a) and fought them off after being down 2-3. Cruised thorugh the rest (Winnipeg 4-1 and swept Pittsburgh in the finals) to the first Stanly Cup after 30 years.
Outlook 20/21: Nilsson got resigned, he'll be my #1 goalie. Hall is a UFA, tough negotiations. I want to re-sign Samuelsson long-term, he could replace Eberle on the RW next to Stamkos and Hall soon. Draisaitl will be dealt away, I have a young center pushing for that job (Brushett, 30g32a in his rookie season. That should earn him a Calder Trophy).
The Stanley Cup winning squad (bold letters show current real life Oilers):
GK: Anders Nilsson, Cam Talbot
D: Justin Schultz, Slater Koekkoek, Darnell Nurse, Oscar Klefbom, William Lagesson, Griffin Reinhart, Anthony Kessel, Jacob Cederholm
F: Taylor Hall, Steven Stamkos, Connor McDavid, Ryan Brushett, Maxime Comtois, Jordan Eberle, Leon Draisaitl, Michael Raffl, Matthew Tkachuk, Henrik Samuelsson, Scott Laughton, Tyler Randell, Joshua Leivo, Iiro Pakarinen, Anton Lander

Re: How's it going in EHM:EA? What team are you?
Brought the game about two weeks ago, have a two day long save on it with the Nottingham panthers having completed one season.
started off inconsistent, winning the first four then losing four then winning three and losing three.
eventually around December we started to get it going and with 7 or 9 games left we had a four point lead over everyone.
we then lost 6 of the last 7 games in an epic collapse to lose the title.
we got through round one of the playoffs then lost the semi finals to Belfast.
so the head coach is gone and replaced and now in late june I'm on vacation hoping that the fitness worries I have will settle down after I keep a preseason schedule up through april and may.
I've invested a lot into youth and speed, hopefully that'll be the key to next year, (I've got 40 players on the roster and the majority have a speed above ten,)

into January and we are cruising through the league, near a ten point lead with games in hand, and have now cruised to an 8-0-1 record in winning the second tier European competition. next up is a cup quarter final vs Edinburgh.
last years champs are bottom of the table.
stamkos left tampa bay. agreed a contract with the leafs who then pulled out of the deal, (which may be the most leafiest thing the leafs have ever done)
he's now at the jets.
