Positon Changes

Post by hfxhabslover »

I have a question about training players to switch positions. Something as simple as moving a defenseman to the other side, or having a LW play as a RW. Can anybody tell me how to go about doing this? Do I just move the player to the desired positon and wait for the player to gain experience? I seem to recall in versions past that it involved the practice screens.

Any help would be great.

Thanks.

Go to Practice > choose a schedule > then you can set the position to be learned. Save the new practice schedule and apply it to the desired player. Some players don't like it tough and will become unhappy. Then just switch his practice back and he'll be okay.

Players with high determination and workrate have a better chance to develop a new position.
(Look at their position tab and if the position you want them to play is already there as competent it will work but if there is nothing for that position he will not develop that new position)

FYI players have a hidden Attribute (Versatility) that affects a player's ability to learn a new Position

I've also seen it said that a player needs actually game playing time at the new Position to effectively learn it (not just Practice/Training)

Is there a way to see their versatility rating?

To see the actual rating? Not without an Editor...In a saved game you can use the EHM Assistant to see hidden Attributes http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/vi ... 57#p212657

There's certain verbiage/terminology that would indicate it ingame...others would better be able to tell you what that might be - can anybody answer what you might see ingame that might indicate a player is more capable than another of learning a new Position?

Okay, I see the instructions to select "choose schedule" but apparently I just cant find it. Im at practice and see nothing about it. The schedules show nothing of position. Am I missing something?

In the practice screen, click the drop down menu called "Schedule" then select one of them (unused probably).

This will change the screen, and at the bottom there is the component parts of the schedule. Change the "New Position" one from None to the position you want to train, along with the rest of the schedule to how you want it. Save the new schedule with whatever name you want, then allocate the player to this new schedule.
