Re: Bugs & Crashes in EHM:EA
Once, when the World Championship was in Finland in my save, the other games were played normally in Hartwall Arena (about. 13 000 seats) and in HK-Areena (about 11 000 seats) BUT the Final Sweden-Canada was played in Pirkkalan Jäähalli (Maybe 200 seats)! I laughed so hard

Had an exhibition game during playoffs against Devils, after winning Flames straight in 4-games.

Not sure if bug or what it is but season 29-30 Preds think it's a good call to put their #1 goalie to the Waivers
E: Also Saros is ranked to be the best goalie in the NHL for that season

These aren't bugs IMO....
Any Salary Cap issues?
Are they keeping younger/better goaltenders?
Such a decision doesn't automatically seem like a bug to me.....
Who rated him as the number one goalie?Saapas wrote:Not sure if bug or what it is but season 29-30 Preds think it's a good call to put their #1 goalie to the Waivers

Saros has a -15 PA so he could be a goalie with a 190 CA (which would result in a top ranking)Saapas wrote:E: Also Saros is ranked to be the best goalie in the NHL for that season

Re: Bugs & Crashes in EHM:EA
1. He was rated #1 in the rankings by positions that come just before the season begins.
2. No salary cap problems.
3. They don't have better goalies and they signed a goalie from FA that I would not play in NHL by looking at his attributes.
On another note Tuukka Rask retired and has good attributes to be a physio and he is now listed as physio but I can't offer him a contract as a Physio, only Asst. GM, Head Coach, Asst. Coach or Scout

If the #1 ranked goalie in the NHL was put on waivers for no apparent reason, I hope you posted on the SI Forums/uploaded your saveSaapas wrote:1. He was rated #1 in the rankings by positions that come just before the season begins.

Anyone have issues with no background games being played? I am like in year 50 and none of the juniors or AHL games are being played

Out of curiosity, how did you get to year 50? Do you quick sim everything? I prefer to play out each day and be involved in the daily activities (waivers, trades, news reports, practice, etc.) but I find that it takes a long time to get through a season. Even simming a season takes around 15 minutes for me.VanFan wrote:Anyone have issues with no background games being played? I am like in year 50 and none of the juniors or AHL games are being played

I started a test with the 1998 DB yesterday (using EHM 1.2), currently in 2006, and all the background games are playing for me...VanFan wrote:Anyone have issues with no background games being played? I am like in year 50 and none of the juniors or AHL games are being played
Wow! 15 minutes....RomaGoth wrote:Even simming a season takes around 15 minutes for me.
I always have all Leagues on Enhanced, a Full Database and Maximum Detail.....my current test with the 1998 DB (with fewer playable leagues!) is taking about 5 hours to sim a year

Wow, 5 hours??? And here I thought 15 minutes was a long time. Clearly my sim times are doing fine.nino33 wrote:I started a test with the 1998 DB yesterday (using EHM 1.2), currently in 2006, and all the background games are playing for me...VanFan wrote:Anyone have issues with no background games being played? Re: Bugs & Crashes in EHM:EA
I haven't started a new game in some time. I have close to 300 hrs put into my current game. I know some people get bored and need to start a new game after a certain amount of years but I'm not like that. I enjoy trying to manage the cap and drafting/developing my players. I haven't had a need to start a new game in a long time which has brought me into 50years or so play. maybe that's the issue but I doubt it.RomaGoth wrote:Out of curiosity, how did you get to year 50? Anyway, I've definitely encountered a bug here. None of the games outside of my league are being played. It's probably related to the last update because I've also had issues since the last patch where my players are being called to international team duties while my season is still active.

6h per season. I guess that's what it takes me to handle one off-season, excluding the draft^^VanFan wrote:I haven't started a new game in some time. I have close to 300 hrs put into my current game. OK, how the HECK do you sim a complete season in 5 hours? OR 15 MINUTES???RomaGoth wrote:Wow, 5 hours??? And here I thought 15 minutes was a long time. I must be some sort of uber-noob when it comes to this.
What settings do you use? Are you playing this game on a quantum CRAY supercomputer?? Obviously, I have some settings wrong, because in 15 minutes, I can simulate, at best, two weeks. And that's leaving EVERYTHING alone and not interfering with the sim one bit.
I have a quad-core 2.66GHz CPU and 8Gb of RAM, so it can't be my machine, can it?

I have an i5 2.50GHz CPU and 6Gb of RAM. How are your EHM settings? When I want to just sim and do nothing with it, I set all games to quick sim under the details section under settings. That speeds up the sim quite a bit.

I use an old computer that was pieced together by someone I know, nothing special at all (the opposite!)Statsman1 wrote:OK, how the HECK do you sim a complete season in 5 hours?
What settings do you use
I always have every available League on Enhanced
I always have a Full Database
I always use Maximum Detail for all games (I never Quick Sim, you get less realistic results)
My old laptops a bit slower than my computer, my wife's (better) computer is much faster than mine (so quicker sims)

OK, so with all that, how long does it take you to play a season as an active GM? Because with settings like that, it will take me about 6 weeks, if I spend 2h per day playing the game.nino33 wrote:I use an old computer that was pieced together by someone I know, nothing special at all (the opposite!)Statsman1 wrote:OK, how the HECK do you sim a complete season in 5 hours?

Re: Bugs & Crashes in EHM:EA
HaHa that's funny! "play" EHMStatsman1 wrote:OK, so with all that, how long does it take you to play a season as an active GM?

I spend almost all my time editing/testing, 100-200 hours a month.....I played a single online season earlier this spring, and initially I spent a few hours at first getting to know my team, setting practice/tactics, etc & then my daily "checking in" typically took 2-5 minutes
Wow...2 hours x 42 days = 84 hours for a season! Are you watching your games?Statsman1 wrote:OK, so with all that, how long does it take you to play a season as an active GM? Because with settings like that, it will take me about 6 weeks, if I spend 2h per day playing the game.
If you're not watching your games, that's a lot of time for a season.....I suspect I could get though 5-10 seasons in 82 hours

OK, perhaps "play" was the wrong choice of words. That's not really what I meant, as I know you're more heavily involved in doing the work so WE can play the game. Sorry about that.nino33 wrote:HaHa that's funny! "play" EHM![]()

No, I do not watch my games, I let the coach do the coaching and just sim the game through. What I find that takes the MOST time of anything that happens is the end-of-day activities - after all the games from that night are played, I click "CONTINUE" and it's a solid 30-60 seconds before the next day is ready to go.
Could that be the result of too many active leagues? Because I only have the CHL as a "selected" league, and those games are quick-simmed.

I don't think it's the number of leagues (as I always have all leagues Enhanced...and I never Quick Sim anything)Statsman1 wrote:No, I do not watch my games, I let the coach do the coaching and just sim the game through. I don't know computers/specs mean nothing to me......but I know "in the same time period" my laptop will sim one season, my computer will sim two, and my wife's computer 4-5 (so the computer does make a difference)
If you're simming 2 weeks in 15 minutes, or half an hour a month, that means you'd be simming a season in about 6 hoursStatsman1 wrote:in 15 minutes, I can simulate, at best, two weeks. And that's leaving EVERYTHING alone and not interfering with the sim one bit.

If you go choose to Quick Sim the "background" games then it will sim faster, but as Nino mentioned, will cause less realistic simming. But it is perfectly OK to do it as it won't go crazy un-realistic.

Yes, if I don't interfere at all, I just let the game go with no input from me at all. Which isn't exactly the hands-on GM experience I'm looking for.nino33 wrote: If you're simming 2 weeks in 15 minutes, or half an hour a month, that means you'd be simming a season in about 6 hours
I am just going to have to tweak a few things and see where I can speed it up, if anywhere.

Hello,
After the release of a new update 1.2.1 happens to me in the new game that young promising players are sent back to the junior leagues - eg. Conor McDavid back to the Erie Otters, Nikolai Ehlers back to the Halifax Mooseheads. Previously, it did not happen to me. Does anyone have the same problem? Do you know where is the problem?
