It's pretty doable too if they just add kid phenom Aito Igucho to the database.A9L3E wrote:I love the Tsujimoto achievement.

Game looks like it will be really good! I probably won't buy it off release, but when/if there is a sale, I will probably get it.
I have a couple comments/questions:
1. I like the achievements and some are really funny i.e. Tsujimoto, but some are just unrealistic (The 200 club, undertaking a streak, outracing the rocket).
2. I saw you said that ratings are split into three categories - offense, defense, overall - but are those the only ratings you can see or can you see more specific things within them i.e. wristshot, pokecheck? (I have never played FHM before so I don't really know a lot about it).
3. I saw that this game is NHL licensesd. That's awesome! But will the game have players from other leagues like the OHL/WHL/QMJHL, the AHl, or the KHL/SHL/sm-liiga etc. i.e. Ilya Kovalchuk, Nolan Patrick, etc. ?

Are there any differences and/or improvements in Historical Mode Sebastian?
If you can't say now, will more information be released about Historical Mode before the preorder period ends?
For me it's really only Historical Mode that I have an interest in (and I feel the same way regarding EHM; I'm not really a fan of modern hockey)

2. There are lots of ratings. To give you a rough idea, there is the same sort of range as you see in EHM. From a researcher's perspective, the way the FHM equivalent of Current Ability works is a lot easier to use that the single EHM CA. In FHM, the CA is split into five categories (goaltending, defensive, offensive, mental and physical). Within each category you have a range of attributes (plus another category of hidden attributes IIRC).
3. All the team, player and league names are real notwithstanding licences.

1. We are still fine tuning everything, including the Achievements. We also might make some Achievements historical only for example.leafsrock67 wrote:Game looks like it will be really good! I probably won't buy it off release, but when/if there is a sale, I will probably get it.

2. I think you talk about our Game Rating, which tells you how good a player performed in his role on the ice. In FHM 2 we had just one value but with the new player role system we split it into an offense and defense GR + an Overall GR. What Colin wrote a bit down this page is still true for ratings and potential.
3. Player and team names yes, no logos or player pics.
We plan to do a Demo this year but I have no time-table available. Hopefully somewhere around Christmas. So if you are unsure, just wait a bit longer, good thing is that then updates are already available and maybe even the first sale.

Re: Franchise Hockey Manager 3 - Discussion Thread
Mostly fixes and tweaks, if historical is your main draw, you should wait with buying. We have some plans for improvements for later but then you can look during one of the sales.nino33 wrote:Are there any differences and/or improvements in Historical Mode Sebastian?

But we will start a long-term project after release regarding our database, which will effect both the actual db and the historical and I´m pretty sure it is something you will like. So stay tuned.

Thanks for the reply Sebastian!
it really feels like "lessons have been learned" and you and your team are on the right path now!
I appreciate your honest advice...but I just purchased FHM3 (preordered) to support development of the game, as I did with FHM1 and FHM2

Re: Franchise Hockey Manager 3 - Discussion Thread
I've been a longtime EHM player and admittedly I am not up to speed on FHM, however after skimming through this thread, it seems pretty promising! Couple of questions (if any of these questions have been answered elsewhere, feel free to just direct me there):
1. It sounds like FHM is more focused on the "statistical" side of the game, more so than EHM. Can you elaborate on what FHM does differently in this regard?
2. Can you speak to the trading/free agent logic that you use? In my mind, this is one of the more important aspects to these types of games. For example, do players have "priorities" when they are looking to sign with a team? Or does a team that is in a rebuild value picks over players?
2a. What about the trading of expiring players? This is one piece that EHM did very poorly. If you had an expiring contract, you could get no value for it (not even a 7th rd pick), whereas if I tried trading FOR an expiring contract, their value would be the exact same as if their contract weren't expiring.
3. How do you measure and account for a player's potential in their ratings? Is there any sort of customizable training or managerial choices the user can make to more closely affect a player's growth outside of their natural progression path?

Re: Franchise Hockey Manager 3 - Discussion Thread
Unfortunately we have to move the release date back to Monday 17th for everyone who pre-ordered the game and the public release to end of October. Sometimes things outside of your control don´t work as you wish they would work but that´s how it is at the moment. On the positive side, we keep the pre-orders running, so basically you can buy and immediately play the game starting next week, we just can´t go live with the Steam page. And a 2-week stress-test before release is not the worst scenario for us, it gives us the chance to iron out the game and especially add more explanations to screens and the manual based on questions we get (the more casual user will not visit forums, so it is good if we can present him more infos on areas, that people have questions on in the next two weeks). The "first week after official release discount" of 10% will still be applied.

It is not in the store at the moment. You can buy a Steam key on our page or just wait until it is "released" to the pre-orderer next week.Epic wrote:Regarding Steam, I searched for the game, but can't find it.
