I'm REALLY hyped for this game... I am a big fan of Football Manager yet as a guy who comes from a country where hockey is almost non-existent, I find it very difficult to grasp the tactical aspect of the hockey game. I bought EHM earlier just for the sake of supporting the project but unfortunately was unable to find my way around which proved very difficult and complex - moreover, while I'm normally in love with 2D engine which I always prefer in FM, I think it just doesn't suit well into hockey games or at least EHM as it is now.

The fact that FHM will include even VHL in Russia is a big plus for me - the "Win Russian league with a non-Russian team" achievement is what ultimately stole my heart, though! The game also looks really easier to understand and customize compared to EHM. Don't get me wrong, I'm not here to bash EHM and as I said earlier, I am more than willing to support any kind of project going on about ice hockey but after the frustration that came with EHM, reason of which is none other than me before the game itself, this FHM 3 made me very happy. I stopped playing Football Manager 2 years ago when they kept feeding same stupid things for at least 30 USD and changed the interface. I hope FHM 3 will be my new "best friend".

I just would like to thank to everyone who takes part in this project and ask a couple of questions,

1) Is the exact release date set? It was pushed for the end of October and I'm fine with any date as long as the team works on ironing out the bugs - I'm just impatiently waiting and very curious!

2) Are there any plans for various logo packs? I mean, how much would it approximately take for someone(s) to create a logopack for KHL after the release? Are there any estimations about that or simply asking, are there any groups working on projects like this?

I presume the logo packs that people have made for FHM 2 can be moved straight across?

Since you're interested in the VHL - I'll be very open. It was mostly my project to get it in the game, and Sebastian managed to do a miracle and get it playable. Unfortunately, a lot has changed, and I don't have the same time I had previously (not even one hockey article out this mont!, but it won't last). This means that the DB is outdated, even if the guys may had a go at transaction, and also probably not complete. KHL and VHL rules, in particular regarding movement of players, are not totally implemented. In particular, waivers seem to be not working as intended (not at all at the start of the game, I think then the situation may change, but I haven't had time to play FHM3 yet pretty much).
That said, if you don't expect a 100% sim you can enjoy it. I will be happy to read your feedback.

Thanks a lot for the effort! Well, to be honest with you, I literally have no idea how trading & transfer system works in ice hockey, let alone VHL itself... You know, I'm from Turkey and we are really good when it comes to football and basketball but ice hockey... Nothing local. So, in previous five or six years, I kinda "learned" ice hockey to some degree but I still have no idea about trading or transfer system. I know it just as I know my name in football, but for hockey, I will have to follow guides or simply try and see myself in FHM. So all in all, thank you again for the effort to put VHL in this game and I'm sure it will be an awesome experience for me anyways since I don't know rules already - what you have for the game is enough for me! My plan is to first get some experience with Sokol in VHL and then hope for a KHL job, though I guess I need to prioritize not getting fired. :-D

Is it a UK team? The game still imposes a roster limit on the number of imports which causes an issue as many UK teams carry more imports than they can dress (e.g. if you play with the Sheffield Steelers you'll find that you cannot sim through the first day without getting the too many foreigners error). I've raised it in the past but I think the limit remains because otherwise the AI insists on filling the rosters with imports despite the dressed limit.

I'm really liking the more humble/realistic/reasonable approach regarding FHM...Sebastian has been impressive, and Lukasburger seems a great addition, and the former supporters that were PR/hyperbole focused seem to have stopped posting much at all

For myself, I wish Markus was the same way. Statements like "the match engine plus the tactics system is much more sophisticated, there's nothing else on the market that comes remotely close" and "I think FHM3's match engine is much better than the one in EHM. It is more realistic, has the better stats output and you have much more influence on tactics and strategy" seem more like hyperbole and less like proven truth

Last year some FHM supporters made the same claims about stats output, and (for example) didn't seem to understand that if goalie save percentage was significantly off than player scoring couldn't be considered significantly accurate.....while I like the new FHM tactics system, the tactics system in EHM seems to allow the detail to do anything the FHM system does (the FHM system seems more geared for those that want to do things quicker/have less hockey knowledge, and limits choices more than EHM.....and I don't see FHM as necessarily having more influence over tactics/strategy, certainly not to the point that nothing else is "remotely close")

I remember previously on the FHM Boards a user trying to do a year-by-year sim to show how the game played out/how realistic results were, and having to give up due to crashes; I wish someone produced comprehensive/real testing results on FHM to support claims that "there's nothing else on the market that comes remotely close" (that's a pretty high standard to reach, and it seems like a just a "sales pitch" to me, and I was so happy to see that FHM seemed to have veered away from such an approach)

I always feel a PR/sales pitch approach is covering up truth, not promoting it (and more concerned with $ than quality); I will say I don't get this impression from the actual FHM developers, whose decisions lately IMO definitely seem to promote/value quality first

While I had no interest in the first two versions of FHM, this one seems much more promising. I'd like to actually get this one but I'll be waiting until the price goes down. Right now I can't justify spending $35-$40 on it.

I've bought every version to support development, and realized in year 2 that it'll be years before I'll want to play it regularly, but I'm a lot happier about the direction/philosophy I see now (the only thing that could change my support is a significant return to the hyperbole/PR approach)

I'm on the same line as B. I tried FHM 1 a bit, but never really got into it like I did with EHM, but this one seems worthwhile. But I'll wait for a sale.
