Rosters on steam disappeared
Just curious if anyone has any information or can tell me where I might be able to get the roster that was created by that 4milesrock guy. His rosters were pretty good but it's gone from steam now. It was a great substitute while waiting for the official roster update to be released.

Re: Rosters on steam disappeared
This post made me wonder.....when it comes to the Steam Workshop does Steam care about "ownership" at all? If someone takes something that took others hundreds/thousands of hours to do, puts in a comparably small/tiny amount of hours to make changes and then attaches their own name to it and puts it on the Steam Workshop, does Steam care?krownroyal83 wrote:Just curious if anyone has any information or can tell me where I might be able to get the roster that was created by that 4milesrock guy. It would be difficult to assert rights over a game database. There are such things as database rights in certain countries (and certainly in the UK) where you can claim copyright if the data is arranged in a unique way. Hence I doubt Steam really cares. I would expect that Steam would likely be of the view that the more addons on Steam, the better.

This stuff needs to be reported by users, but Valve definitely does act on stolen Workshop content... or at least, they used to back when it was a big issue with the Workshop. I know Valve's standards and willingness to curate Steam has dropped quite a bit over the years; I can't guarantee the Workshop hasn't followed suit.nino33 wrote:This post made me wonder.....when it comes to the Steam Workshop does Steam care about "ownership" at all? However, I can see there being a loophole with the fact that modifying a database isn't really an original piece of work. I'm guessing Valve would encourage people to get permission before adding to and re-uploading this kind of thing, but they may not necessarily crack down on someone who doesn't.
I'd say if you find something like this, report it and see what happens. Worst case scenario, they disagree and leave the content up.

Thanks Stinson! I was just wondering if there was a policy/if someone had said something, and that's why the rosters krownroyal was asking about "disappeared"

In our TBL rosters I have a little certain something hidden for this purpose.

It's not just those rosters, they're all gone. I was subscribed to TBL 8.2 through the workshop and that disappeared too. I had to download 8.2 from this forum to get it back.nino33 wrote:Thanks Stinson! Well, not necessarily. You're always welcome to start your own roster project, and get it done super quick. No need to wait around for someone else.robvya wrote:at this rate ill play ehm in 2030 with new roster.... hurry the hell up
