How do I update my custom database year?
Can anyone please explain how I would update my rosters to reflect the 2016 start date with the new update? I know the team is working on a mass update but in the meantime how would I do it myself? If the answer already exists I apologize but any help in this would be greatly appreciated, thank you!!

You'd be looking to do things like editing the players (things like Attributes and Contracts) & creating/retiring players and making team/affiliation changes as necessary.....there's also Staff to deal with + Junior teams will have many new players at the younger age and many older players having moved on to new teams (plus Height/Weight change significantly with teenagers, and size does make a difference in EHM); it's unlikely (impossible?) that a single person would be able to come anywhere close to what the TBL Rosters will be before the 2017-18 season starts (it's many hundreds of hours of work)y2steved wrote:Can anyone please explain how I would update my rosters to reflect the 2016 start date with the new update?

I believe the main gist of the question is: is there a way we can change the date to 2016-17 ourselves if we want to tackle the work, I've wondered that myself, searched, and never come up with a way ... mind you I'm using the old updaters from EHm 2007

Oh, OK (I guess since the team's work was referenced, and the team does roster work and has nothing to do with the ability to change the start date, I misunderstood)Realpity wrote:I believe the main gist of the question is: is there a way we can change the date to 2016-17 ourselves if we want to tackle the work, I've wondered that myself, searched, and never come up with a way ... mind you I'm using the old updaters from EHm 2007
EHM was updated this morning by Riz/SI and now allows for a 2016 start date (you'd change the date to 2016 the same way as changing the start date previously, via the import_config file http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/wiki/inde ... config.cfg); change the start date in the import_config file to 2016 and import the database
P.S. FYI - this method can be used to change the start date to anything between 1970 and 2016

Excellent, thanks much ! I know I'd toyed with doing just the OHL for fun while waiting for the full update (that is indeed WAY too much work for just me to tackle on my own) ... what a coincidence it's just able to be done today !

Re: How do I update my custom database year?
Question along the same lines, I have a pre-imported roster (2015) which I am trying to change the start date to 2016, it appears I need to re-import the roster but can't. Is it possible to convert a 2015 roster back to 2007 format, or do take a 2007 roster but replace the .dats with the data from my updated 2015 roster?

I think Archi will have to answer this one (or maybe someone else knows); thus far I've only ever edited 07 databases and imported, I've never edited an EHM1 database directlyxECK29x wrote:Question along the same lines, I have a pre-imported roster (2015) which I am trying to change the start date to 2016, it appears I need to re-import the roster but can't. Yea it doesn't seem like it's possible, I've noted some of the converted files are very similar and tried some replacement of .dat's, but haven't had a lot of luck.nino33 wrote:I think Archi will have to answer this one (or maybe someone else knows); thus far I've only ever edited 07 databases and imported, I've never edited an EHM1 database directlyxECK29x wrote:Question along the same lines, I have a pre-imported roster (2015) which I am trying to change the start date to 2016, it appears I need to re-import the roster but can't. Re: How do I update my custom database year?
You will need to re-import the EHM 2007 database. It's a case of copying your EHM 2007 database .dat files to a sub-folder of the EHM 1 "database" folder and then using the Import button in game. It's exactly the same steps as when you first installed the database.
It is possible to change the start date via the EHM 1 Editor (which you will find in the Downloads Section). However, I would not recommend this as certain international competitions have stage/tournament settings which are offset against the start date and so they will be out of sync with an altered start date (as the Editor cannot yet edit those offset settings).

Thanks, I've used the import_config file before for something, so I'd stick to that route then to not screw things up majorly
