Anyway, there is a glitch. It doesn't update the "continental licence" (with a c??) when you change club. I think it's just a visualization problem

Re: Editing league rules and structures in EHM 1
I'll take a look. I think I know the cause - it relates to the way the Editor figures out how many columns/items of data each entry has. It is something I've been intending to address for the next version (it's a simple but fairly time-consuming thing to fix).Alessandro wrote:Anyway, there is a glitch. Ha! Yes they are just temporary. It would have added a week or two to the release date if I'd had to go through and tidy them all up now.

Re: Editing league rules and structures in EHM 1
I have been struggling with this one too. The best I've been able to get is a start date on 22 March 2017 with the first season commencing in 2018 (the first game in the Schedule Dates is 23 April). It still does not let you select a team to coach at game start-up. Here's what I've done to get to this stage:Curt-97 wrote:Has anyone else tried to create the Australian League?
I'ts driving me insane, I'm trying to make it run from April to August and nothing works Whenever I go to load the game and pick a team the list of teams is blank. If i start unemployed the league has no teams and no league dates.
I thought it may have been because it over laps the game data update from June to July but I changed the schedule dates and still have the same issues. Does any body have any ideas?
Basic Data -> Initial start year offset: 0
Comp Rules -> Draw date: 1 April 2016
Stages -> Schedule Dates -> Year Offsets: Set all year offsets to 1 (if you set them all to zero then the game starts on 23 March 2016 and no games are scheduled)

Re: Editing league rules and structures in EHM 1
Archi - any way to know the team ID for league schedule purpose? I understand I can just watch at schedule and get the ID for existing leagues, but what about for creating a new template for a new league?

Re: Editing league rules and structures in EHM 1
There's an old post from the Editor Thread where I explained this and so I have re-produced it below (it is buried in the thread so probably better to re-produce it than just link to it).
As a starting point, you must go to the league's Rules and Structure screen and enable "Comp Uses Real Schedule Template" on the Flags tab.
And here's the info on the Schedule Templates screen:
The Schedule Templates are in the following format:
Home and Road Team IDs do not relate to the teams' usual ID numbers. Instead, the teams are ordered alphabetically and then the first team is 0, the second team is 1, etc. Where a league has divisions, the teams are grouped into their divisions and sorted alphabetically within each division. The divisions are sorted according to the order they appear in the Editor (take a look at the second to last screenshot in my post above and you'll see a list of divisions down the right hand side). Each team has a prefix added to the Team ID according to the division in which they belong. A zero is prefixed to Team IDs in the first division, a 1 to the Team IDs in the second division and so on.
Based on the above, here is how it works for the NHL Schedule Template (based on the modern DB - i.e. 2015/16 structures):
1. First, take a look at the list of divisions in the Editor in order to figure out the Team ID prefix (the first division is 0, the second is 1, etc). As you will see from this screenshot the divisions are in this order:
With the teams in the first division (i.e. with a prefix of 0), the zeros are disregarded and so you end up with just a single or double digit Team ID. For example, the fifth team (=4) in the first division (=0) is simply 4 rather than 004, the 19th team (=18) in the first division (=0) is 18 rather than 018 and the first team (=0) in the first division (=0) is 0 rather than 000.
Based on the above, these are the Team IDs for the NHL teams in the modern DB:

If you take a look at the first of the screenshots below, you will see the Schedule Template for the NHL from the TBL v8.2 rosters. The four games on the opening day (7 October 2015) shown in that screenshot are:
Home v Road:
7 v 4
200 v 104
302 v 306
304 v 305
Using the above-mentioned system, the Team IDs translate as:
Home v Road:
TOR v MTL
CHI v NYR
CGY v VAN
LAK v SJS
And, if you check the real life NHL 2015/16 schedule (see here) you will see that this matches!
Using the above system, you can create the whole schedule in a spreadsheet. Once you have this in a spreadsheet, you can import it into the database using my Editor. So there isn't a fixed Template - you just create it yourself.

As a starting point, you must go to the league's Rules and Structure screen and enable "Comp Uses Real Schedule Template" on the Flags tab.

Re: Editing league rules and structures in EHM 1
I've been trying various combinations of settings but cannot figure it out. The problem seems to be that the teams are not drawn until the draw date - hence no teams appear on the initial screen in-game where you select which team to coach. I've tried a couple of Team Picking Rules to get around it (including listing the teams in the Division) but it doesn't seem to make a difference. I'll flag this up with Riz. I expect the game might not have been designed with an AIHL-style season in mind.archibalduk wrote:I have been struggling with this one too. I think that it's because you need a schedules template...archibalduk wrote:Has anyone had any luck creating a two conference league (one division per conference)? I've been trying to create the USHL but keep getting a crash whilst creating the game.

I'm not sure you do - the EIHL and NIHL-2S are both multi-conference/division leagues without templates.Alessandro wrote:I think that it's because you need a schedules template...archibalduk wrote:Has anyone had any luck creating a two conference league (one division per conference)? Anyhow, I have tried both with and without a Template. Maybe I should try a single conference with two divisions instead of two conferences with a single division each. I can't figure out what you do with the Schedule Dates when you use a Template. E.g. take a look at the first two stages of the NHL.

Re: Editing league rules and structures in EHM 1
I'd say those dates are regular season start and end date. KHL dates are very similar (if took in context of the dates, with the KHL shifting of about one month).archibalduk wrote:I'm not sure you do - the EIHL and NIHL-2S are both multi-conference/division leagues without templates.Alessandro wrote:I think that it's because you need a schedules template...archibalduk wrote:Has anyone had any luck creating a two conference league (one division per conference)? Re: Editing league rules and structures in EHM 1
archi I think we have schedule import bug. When I export for example EBEL schedule, change it and want to import dont get the same values in editor as in xml file. Dont know but problem might be in xml file is more column then visible in editor? In file i have "- Invalid -" value in "TV Date 1 Arena Rules" "TV Date 2 Arena Rules" etc. Problem is that even I edit these manually in editor second stage wont be drawn. Mostly all options are the same as ebel league. Can You have a look? I only added option "Bring over results from prev stage" I post some screen and schedule file.

Re: Editing league rules and structures in EHM 1
Arch:
From a UK-editing perspective I'm guessing it would be fairly easy to change the EPIHL rules over to the real-life playoff format now?
Also was wondering if it would be possible to edit the EPIHL to more accurately model the EPL Cup, in that the first games of the league count towards the cup?
Maybe have a 'Preliminary round' of the regular season where the teams all play one another twice, then have the 'Regular season' carry on from that with the teams playing one another a further 4 times? You could then have the 'Playoffs' lead on from the Regular season as normal but then have the finals of the EPL Cup as either another stage (not sure if this is possible) or as a separate competition maybe?
Not sure if that would be possible and thought I'd ask before trying to 'break' the game
I can see that theres a tick-box to carry over 'results from a previous stage' so presuming we could incorporate the cup (league) results into the rest of the league? I know it's not exactly a mirror of how the league works in real-life, but would be more realistic to have that than the EPL Cup as a separate competition with an extra group stage all of its own IMO.
Food for thought anyway. I'll have a play about when I can over Christmas but thought I'd raise it now.

Food for thought anyway. I'll have a play about when I can over Christmas but thought I'd raise it now.

Re: Editing league rules and structures in EHM 1
It looks like the spreadsheet is not being imported correctly (I checked with csv and it is the same issue). From a quick look, it is not processing the text but is instead treating the text as the number zero (which is what happens when a QString is treated as a number). In my haste to add the definitions, it seems I did not update the importing bit (the spreadsheet uses text settings whereas the Editor uses numbers right now).Named wrote:archi I think we have schedule import bug.
I'm reluctant to release another version so soon, but I think this is a fairly significant issue. So I'll work on fixing this along with a couple of other minor issues I've found. There's no ETA, but I'll aim for Saturday if I can (if not, it'll be next week).
Thanks ever so much for testing things out. I really appreciate you posting bug reports like this.

Yes, I think that could well be possible.marksbros6 wrote:Arch:
From a UK-editing perspective I'm guessing it would be fairly easy to change the EPIHL rules over to the real-life playoff format now?
That's a pretty interesting idea. I'm not a fan of the existing schedule because it causes teams to play far too many games. Your suggestion sounds like a better solution. It's certainly worth testing out.marksbros6 wrote:Also was wondering if it would be possible to edit the EPIHL to more accurately model the EPL Cup, in that the first games of the league count towards the cup?
Maybe have a 'Preliminary round' of the regular season where the teams all play one another twice, then have the 'Regular season' carry on from that with the teams playing one another a further 4 times? You could then have the 'Playoffs' lead on from the Regular season as normal but then have the finals of the EPL Cup as either another stage (not sure if this is possible) or as a separate competition maybe?
Not sure if that would be possible and thought I'd ask before trying to 'break' the game![]()
