Can't offer multiyear contracts to staff in NHL?

Post by Sucker Punch »

I'm having a strange problem here. Haven't played in a long time, picked it up again with the new roster release.

My usual beginning is firing most of my staff, then hiring new, better ones. I just did that, except I can only offer a one year contract to new staff. Money doesn't seem to be a problem, I can offer more money, just not more term.

This happened in the NHL with both the new TBL rosters and the default roster. I've also started a network game with both NHL and AHL. The problem occurred in the NHL, but not the AHL. Clint Malarchuk, for example, could only be offered one year by Ottawa, but signed for 3 years with Binghamton.

Anyone have any idea what's going on?

That's happening in my challenge game. I figured it was because it was the Coyotes.

Also I have mentioned before that retired players who take on being physios cannot be offered a contract as physio for some reason :dunno:

I don't think I've ever heard of a retired player becoming a Physiotherapist (maybe that's why they can't be offered a contract for the job?)

When I said "I don't think I've ever heard of a retired player becoming a Physiotherapist" I meant IRL
IMO it shouldn't be happening at all ingame, not that the user should be able to so too! HaHa

Riz noted on the SI EHM Bugs Forum today "This has been fixed for the next update. It was happening with unattached staff only. Thanks for reporting it."
