Re: EHM 1 Database & Saved Game Editor
Will we able to export already created models of new leagues in upcoming version of editor? I mean created on old version of editor. Maybe You will answer, can I somehow use option "Additional stage to draw teams from" in Linked Stages screen to get playoff draw between two divisions?

Yes it will allow for export. See my post quoted below where I posted the most recent update on progress.Named wrote:Will we able to export already created models of new leagues in upcoming version of editor? I haven't tested the "Additional stage to draw teams from" but it sounds like it might.
archibalduk wrote:The first version of the competition rules and structures import/export is pretty much complete. From a technical perspective it does what it is supposed to, but I haven't had much luck getting a database to work yet. That said, I haven't been able to do much testing as I need to continue working on other parts of the Editor (the more I test, the longer it'll take to make more progress with the Editor). Hopefully a few users will be interested in testing it out when I release the next version (no ETA at the moment).

Re: EHM 1 Database & Saved Game Editor
I've made more progress this evening - the Editor now adds all of the relevant missing leagues and more-or-less reorders the leagues correctly. It needs some finessing, but the process works fine. Judging by the import errors I get when I try to import the converted EHM 2005 DB into EHM 1, it seems all that remains is to get the correct number of teams in each league. This should be relatively straightforward (it is more time consuming than anything else).archibalduk wrote:I've added compatibility with reading EHM 2005 databases and reading/writing EHM 2007 databases (currently working on writing EHM 2005 databases). Converting a database from EHM 2005 to EHM 2007 is now possible and I've just tested it out. It's not quite that straightforward as you have to copy certain files from an EHM 2007 database because EHM 2005 either does not have them (e.g. drafts.dat) or the version it has is incomplete (e.g. colour.dat).
The downside is that the club competitions are in a different order compared with EHM 2007 and the Import function in EHM 1 does not like this. So it's going to take a bit of work to rearrange things - and of course there will be some leagues that will need the number of clubs changed. But I think it is very doable and something I'm going to continue working on whilst I also work on other aspects of the Editor. If I can figure out the EHM 2004 DB format then I'll add that as an option too.

Re: EHM 1 Database & Saved Game Editor
My comment was transferred to that topic, so I will re post it here, because it has nothing to do with NHL/KHL trade rules, but with editor itself:archibalduk wrote:I have tidied up this thread and moved the NHL/KHL discussion trade rules here: http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/vi ... 10&t=17637
Will it be possible to delete individual players/staff from database, just like first and second names in next version of the editor?
Maybe other data, like clubs and arenas too?

Re: EHM 1 Database & Saved Game Editor
No it won't be possible in the next version. I plan to implement deletion options eventually but other functions are higher priority at the moment.

Much appreciated and any issues let me know. I know it's probably something stupidly simple but I think another pair of eyes will help

Re: EHM 1 Database & Saved Game Editor
Scrub that, I think as crazy as it sounds, I've managed to got it.
What it seemed to be is that I'd put two teams that were defunct (Hull Stingrays and Newcastle Vipers) but I thought I would just try a straight swap of two teams from the English Premier League (Hull Pirates and Guildford Flames). Works instantly. It seems that you cant put teams that were defunct and reactivate them and then add them to an expanded league but you can put teams from another league into this expanded league and put the defunct teams that were now activated as replacements for the teams that you've moved League.
Not sure if that helps in any way but looks like I've sorted the problem I had. Lots of testing to do but think we're all but there!

I don't know. Once I've added everything I wanted for this version and once I'm happy with it.Alessandro wrote:Archi - when next release?
On another note, I now have the EHM 2005 to EHM 2007 database conversion working in the Editor. There are one or two divisional settings to iron out for the AHL, but I'm running an EHM 2005 database in EHM 1 right now without a problem (although I'm not sure the AHL will work quite yet):

Re: EHM 1 Database & Saved Game Editor
Check the Settings screen in the Editor before loading the saved game. Make sure all of the Maintenance settings are disabled. I can't remember for sure if the Editor can add new names in saved games - I'll try to check later.Pinguin86 wrote:I tried it with EHM Editor but it is not working.I can't change the name of a specific player, so i tried creating a new nation so that i could set new names for this new nation and afterwards i wanted to set the player to the new nation with EHM Assistant (so that i could change the name with EHM Assistant to a new nation specific), but EHM Editor corrupted my savefile.
I saved the savegame as non compressed because i read that this causes some problems, but it didn't help.
Do you have another suggestion? Or maybe do you know where i could ask about the Editor?
Edit: I also have to say that my window of the Editor looks really different to the Editorscreenshot you posted last...hm...

I haven't tested it in-game, but the Editor does allow you to edit names in a saved game.archibalduk wrote:Check the Settings screen in the Editor before loading the saved game. Stupid me was using the DB Editor, and it was not working with this. But the Editor does the job. Even editing names for saved games! Thanks a lot again!

No it's a database issue. This should probably be flagged with Riz.Named wrote:archi: Something for You I discovered. Seems some wrong reading data from editor.

Re: EHM 1 Database & Saved Game Editor
The final new function I'm working on for the upcoming release of the Editor is a facepack look-up tool which will produce two spreadsheets which will show:
- Which facepack images do and do not match a player in the database (so that you can check for unused face images); and
- Which players in the database do not have a face image.
I'm hoping this will help facepack creators check whether they have missed any players for a particular team/league/nation. The folder it'll check can be customised - so you can check an individual pack which is saved to a separate folder rather than just the installed images folder in EHM.
Eventually I'll add something to check team and league logos too.

IIRC Riz mentioned recently that active drafts cannot be added via the DB yet.BulldogsFan wrote:http://ontariohockeyleague.com/article/ ... -selection
