Calculating cap hits

Post by pantsukki »

IIRC NHL players are only paid during the regular season? Does anyone know how monthly wage is calculated in-game? Or in other words, how can I calculate the saved cap space if a player is in LTIR?

The way it's supposed to work is that a player on LTIR does add their wage to your cap if missing their cap hit would put you under the cap floor. But otherwise his wage is not counted towards your Cap hit* (Source), however every time I've put a player on the LTIR in EHM it does the exact same thing as putting him on the normal IR; As far as I can tell putting someone on LTIR over IR serves 0 purpose in this game, since both just completely cut his Cap hit from the books even if that puts you under the salary floor. It's really hard to know how fine print stuff like this works in EHM though as there is no documentation of how rules work in the game (that I know of), which means you have to assume they work like IRL. The issue is that the in-game rules don't always follow the real rules to the letter, which leads to a lot of confusion.

*Technically it does still count towards your cap hit, you're just allowed to go over the cap by an amount equal to (his cap hit - remaining cap space); In practice this is the same as him not having a cap hit if it would put you above the cap.
