Livin It Up In Austria

I have gotten bored of the usual North America game so, I decided to start in Austria just because they were on top Alphabetically so I have also took over Dornbirner Bulldogs who were the first team also Alphabetically.

Team History

Dornbirner started play in the Austrian 2nd league in 2001, they won the title in that league during the 2008 and 2010 seasons. This came after they were runners up in 2004. The team applied for promotion into the Erste Bank Eishockey Ligue which is the top league in Austria, which was granted and they became the first team since 2004 to be granted a spot in the EBEL.

GM
I will be playing as Martin Ulrich who was a Austrian defenseman who played almost 500 games in the EBEL and another 389 DEL (German 1st league) games. I couldn't find club legends for the Bulldogs so I chose Ulrich because he is one of the EBEL greats who aren't with a current team.

Roster
Florian Hardy mans the net as the starter, he is decent with everything ranging in the 50's except for his stamina which is at 79 so he can be a workhorse.

Young Thomas Stroj is the backup and he is on loan from Klagenfurt. He is what you would expect from a young goalie, he is very raw. Will be interesting to see how he does this year.

Our best defenseman is Nick Crawford who spent most of his playing days in Saginaw in the OHL then went to Rochester in the AHL. He was a 7th round pick by the Buffalo Sabres. His best season was his rookie season in the AHL with 31 points.

Oliver Magnan is another Canadian who is 30 and spent his days in the QMJHL with Rouyn-Noranda with the Huskies. He was a 5th round pick by the New Jersey Devils, he played in 18 NHL games with the Devils before moving to Italy for a season and then ending up in Dornbirner.

Nikolas Petrik is a 32 year old Austrian League veteran. He spent his whole career with his home town Villach team with his best season coming in 2006/2007 when he scored 16 points. He will be our top LW.

Chris D'Alvise is a 30 year old veteran who spent 3 years at Clarkson before going to the ECHL with Cincinnati and Stockton before 46 games in the AHL with Springfield (now Tucson). This will be his first foray into European Hockey, he is also our best Center.

Martin Grabner Meier will be the last player I talk about and is our best RW. He is a 32 year old veteran of the Austrian League spending the last 4 seasons with EHC Black Wings Linz. He has had 4 seasons of over 20 points so he will provide nice scoring depth on this team.

Board
The Board expects us to retain a respectable position this season.
