- NHL alternative schedule template you must add Divs in the same order as normal schedule template
It was this that was causing my issues, now fixed; thanks much Named!
Named wrote:- NHL Stages Structure - Stage 1, mark Has Alternative Dates and in Alt Dates below Schedule Dates add start and end dates from alternative schedule
FYI it wasn't this and in fact I could not get anything to actually save on the Alt Dates tab! I can input it, save it, but when I close and reopen the database it's never there
Thanks again for all your help Named! Much appreciated!

- NHL Salary Cap/Floor ?
- Maximum Wage ?
- Entry Level Wage ?
- Minimum Wage ?
As far as I can tell, I can't edit any of this things with in an EHM1 database with the EHM1 Editor...maybe because they're "League Rules" (based on the CBA) ?
The only things editable I can see is on the Finance Info tab, and I did change Max F/D/G Wage to 1.5 million and it seemed to work
But the "League Minimum" NHL salary of $450,000 K seems to be in place (no one makes less than that); is there a way I can get rid of the Salary Cap/Floor, League Minimum salary amount, Entry Level Contract amounts, etc ?
I think I've found where these things can be edited.....the Transfer Rules tab, then the Basic Data (for the Salary Cap) and the Extra Rules tab (for CBA related stuff)
I tried to change the KHL to 24 teams (6 teams in each division), but the game crashes during the new game setup. What could cause the game crashing? The schedule still being for 29 teams? I'm pretty new to this so I'd gladly take any help I could get!

I suggest wait for official 2017/2018 changes rather than doing yourself.

Yes you will need to update the schedule too. Everything has to reflect the correct number of teams otherwise you will get crashes and/or weird behaviour in game.
I did a bit of editing but stopped once I got stuck at getting the second stage of Alps Hockey League right. Is it possible to instruct the stage promotion based on absolute rankings, rather the relative conditions - because in Alps league, top 6 go to second stage and the remaining 10 teams form 2 groups - teams placed 7., 9., 11., 13., 15. form one group and the rest the second group. I wasn't able to simulate that as I could only put teams from 7.-12. to one group etc...
Anyway, I hope you get the point I'm not sure, though, if there is such a system anywhere else in the hockey world, so I kind of doubt it's feasible...

It's impossible. I also touched Alph league and stucked on some stage but it's delayed project cause structure is complicated to do. We had to do some things close but different to run Alph.
Yes a playable league I think that can be unplayable, try to remove all data from the "basic data" sub-tab in "rules and structure" tab
Nothing else can be deleted, but you can set players, teams, and leagues as unactive
Hi guys, just a quick question really. I'm looking at creating a 30 team league based in the UK following the same structure as the NHL. I've read through the posts here and I understand the importance of balancing the schedule etc but aside from that is it as simple as mirroring the settings for the NHL on to my new league for it to work the same way?

I think you could use the same schedule template if you make sure the divisions have the right number of teams in right divisions.

thanks for the reply! I'll keep working away as I am and I'll report back on any success.

If you take that approach, go to the NHL on the Rules & Structures screen and click on Add Item -> Copy Current Item (at the bottom of the screen). This will create a new entry using the same settings as the NHL You'll find this option on a lot of the structure-related screens (e.g the Schedule Templates screen).
OK so I have created a database where I have edited the EIHL to reflect the NHL in terms of structure, rules and schedule. I've also moved existing teams from the database into the new league to avoid the issue I was having with creating teams. I have also set any UK leagues that I have taken teams from to extinct.
The current issue I'm having is that I can't even get EHM itself to launch from Steam never mind check if the DB has worked ok. Is it possible soething within my DB is stopping the game from even starting??
Update: I've got the game to load now thankfully but I can't get the database to load past 'Initializing Game Data' so I must have missed something still within the database. I think I'm stumped now!!
Hey guys, I've edited the 9.6 DB to include a 30 team league in the UK which I can start a game with but it crashes whenever I try to save. The league has been created from scratch as a mirror of the NHL structures and schedule. I haven't created any new teams but I have reactivated some inactive clubs (Ayr, Newcastle, Durham etc..) and I had to add some inactive teams to replace the clubs I have taken from the existing UK leagues.
Has anyone on here had the same problem saving their edited game or does anything that I've listed above sound like it could be causing the problem? Thanks for any help offered!

Are you editing the database? or a saved game?
The changes you're making can only be done by editing the database
