@ Tasku:
Just read all 15 seasons of Sainio's career and I found it to be a very interesting take on EHM and even on the life and career of a professionnal hockey player. To think every player in the world has a backstory like this really adds a human element to being a hockey fan and I think it's really interesting. Of course, a few things lack realism, as is expected with EHM (like Anaheim constantly getting you back and trading you away haha), but it makes for a great story, still.
I especially like how Sainio was a 5th round pick who had a hard time earning his spot in the NHL, but who is now known as a solid stay at home D around the league. The guy will never be a star, but he should have a few good years ahead of him, still.
Keep up the good work, I know I'll be reading until Sainio's retirement, even if that means reading about his final 2 years at age 40 playing in some obscure Finnish or Danish league!

Re: User EHM Blog Announcements/Updates Thread
Thanks yoteshot! Really appreciate the feedback.
The human element, the story behind the numbers and names has always been interesting to me, and it's fun to have to go with the flow and come up with a story that goes with the simulation. Yes, I've had a few moments where I've had to scratch my head to try to explain decisions in the game, so that they would somehow seem reasonable in the real world. Then again we have to remember, that not all real world decisions by real world GMs seem too sensible to us either!

Just pretend the GM is Garth Snow and it will all make perfect sense! (until he makes a good trade)redrobert81 wrote:Very true indeedTasku wrote: Then again we have to remember, that not all real world decisions by real world GMs seem too sensible to us either!

If you press the alt + print screen buttons when taking a screenshot it will then only take a picture of the EHM window instead of the full screen.cecede123 wrote:Hey everyone ! I decided to jump in my first blog on TBL ! Feel free to get a look !!

Toni Sainio's career is nearing it's end, and frankly I'm running out of ideas. So if you have any good ideas to what you think would fit nicely into the Sainio story, then please do tell! If there's something you'd like to see happen (as long as it doesn't contradict the simulation) you are free to suggest! Suggestions are welcome!

Create a son for him with much higher or much lower than his dad?

You mean as the next one?Saapas wrote:Create a son for him with much higher or much lower than his dad?
Sure. But then it would have to be in the 2030's, where no player is real. Also, like I said, I'm running out of ideas with this one. Not sure I can muster a whole new series right away.

Toni Sainio was actually in a coma this whole time, but his dreams were influenced by the TV and radio broadcasts of games and news that his son was playing in his whole career.. His son was actually the current pro player...? Then you can replay with modern players but use his son instead. Can use Retro Rosters if you want to play Toni Sainio in his actual era, while his son plays in the modern rosters?.. I am not saying it's golden, but it allows you to keep the story going

In the next story. Make 6 brothers(age 15-16) from estonia or some other minor country. They are all at same age(big pregnancy huh?) And they all play certain position so that they would make a whole line. From goalie to center.

Maybe not sextuplets! Between 1 and 2 years between each brother?
But a ‘family affair’ might be an idea. Start them all at the same team and chart where they go? Give them ‘random’ -PA’s so there’s some randomness to how high they can climb?

That would be great to watch/read IMO. If they all end up in the NHL it would be awesome!
