I feel exactly the same about FHM4, it just doesn't feel fleshed out. I've really enjoyed the depth of the OOTP Baseball series immensely, and I've tried to give FHM2, FHM3, and FHM4 a chance, but it still hasn't lived up to my expectations. Honestly, if they just "ported" over the systems from OOTPB to FHM, it would be a much better game. Doubt I'll be purchasing another FHM game until more progress is made on its core systemsnino33 wrote:Bottom line for me personally is FHM4 is still mostly unfulfilled potential.....there are things I like and things I don't, but overall for me it's ultimately just unsatisfying/not enjoyable to actually play the game (the ingame presentation of the game itself is just not close to good/engaging/interesting enough - this is the biggest problem for me)
IMO to much that is interrelated shows signs of not working well/not working at all (AI setting of lines, tactics functionality, goalie starts, etc), and for a game on a yearly release cycle this is concerning
I still think things are spread to thin (trying to do to much) & it still seems the game is more for the "quick sim/fantasy fan" and not enough for the "complete simulation fan"

Baseball is such a simple game and the world is so small/different it's not really comparable IMO (and the developers themselves have noted there's very little that can be just ported over)FalseCredential wrote:I've really enjoyed the depth of the OOTP Baseball series immensely, and I've tried to give FHM2, FHM3, and FHM4 a chance, but it still hasn't lived up to my expectations. I recall it posted on the OOTP site that the "crossover" between the two games is not large (it seems most who play FHM do not play OOTP)
OOTP to me is made for the "fast simmer" and it's ability to accommodate/please the "slow/detail oriented simmer" is mostly to do with how simple the game of baseball is compared to hockey (and of course almost two decades of ongoing development!)
