the story behind this result is due to some Canucks fan was suggesting/joking on the Canucks.com msg board that its possible we can all vote for Fitzpatrick (consider a terrible player by us Canucks fans) and sent him to the all star game. At first I didnt take it seriously and didnt vote for him, but I'm amazed by the amount of people actually voted for him! and now this thing could actually happen! LOL this is the craziest thing ever!

Right now Rory is 200,000 vote shy of Neidermeyer.

I'd love to see this happen; maybe it would force them to actually make making the team an honer that has to be earned instead of voted for.

Started on hfboards a week ago, I've been following it since. Started as a joke/protest against the voting system, now being touted as a vote for the common man kinda thing, works his butt off for little credit style argument.

This cracks me up. I heard about it on the radio here.

The other thing about all star voting...Check out the 14th and 15th vote getters (I think that this is where they were). Guess who? Henrik and Daniel. Henrik with 4 more votes. More important than the fact that these two cannot be separated (even in the 2 EHM fantasy games I have...both on the same team, and that they have the EXACT SAME contract, is .... who the heck are the 4 people who voted for Henrik and not Daniel? Sheesh.

Anyway, back to Rory...just voted. GO RORY!

Sorry, it was released on Wed this week to the media.
NHL.com but... it appears it was reported wrong...404 votes separating..who are the 404?

And...Rory just got another vote. darn him, he will ruin the all star game. Soon it will be a battle of popularity.

Right... so after looking at the link Batdad was kind enough to privide, I see that Rory has less then 30k votes, heck, Lubomir Visnovsky has more votes then him.

Yes, yes it is..that is why it is fun. Noone is serious about it, and why should we be. After all it is the Cold Fx NHL All Star game, presented by Preparation H.

Sports radio in Vancouver has announced that due to the number of votes Rory is getting he will be added to the official ballot by the NHL. I really want to hear Rory talk. Hopefully he says something like "Man this is stupid, but dang it would be a neat experience for a guy like me to get blown around by Ovechkin and Kovalchuk all in one 10 second shift."

Naslund: "Well I think it's pretty funny. Especially when you hear him [Rory] talk about it. He's just as surprised as the rest of us. But it's nice. Pretty funny.

Morrison: "Yea I think it's pretty cool. He has my full support. I mean I haven't actually physically sat down and voted, still need to do that, but I'm talking morally, He has all my support"
