Re: EHM 1 Database & Saved Game Editor
Thanks for the update, I love the filtering and can't wait to check out some of the new player importing features.
I've noticed a bug where when I set the editor to use North American date styles, it doesn't change anything; they remain European date styles. Even when saving the DB, even when closing and restarting the editor, nothing changes it.
One other thing, and I don't know if this is theoretically impossible for the Editor to do, is that databases won't display player ratings from 1-100 even if the setting is ticked. I'm guessing that's because ratings are by default 1-20 and wouldn't switch to 1-100 until game start but, yeah.

That's strange. What screens are you looking at? I just tested it now and it is working fine for me.zbguy wrote:I've noticed a bug where when I set the editor to use North American date styles, it doesn't change anything; they remain European date styles. That's right - AFAIK only once the data is in a saved game is the 1-100 range used. I have not tried, but I would expect that the game will ignore that setting when starting a new game from the database (worth testing out though). The setting won't have an impact on the Editor because it just shows whatever is in the database (and ticking/un-ticking that box doesn't result in any of the attributes being automatically converted between 1-20 and 1-100 ranges).zbguy wrote:One other thing, and I don't know if this is theoretically impossible for the Editor to do, is that databases won't display player ratings from 1-100 even if the setting is ticked. You need to use the staff Importer spreadsheet. You will need to list every single person in that spreadsheet and put the word "_none" in the Club Contracted column for each person. There is a guide on how to use the Staff Importer spreadsheet here: viewtopic.php?f=150&t=18864#p233374Tonait wrote:I dont know how i set every player as free agent, Can someone tell how it works?
I recommend reading through the full guide because it explains how to create the blank spreadsheet you'll need along with how to generate a list of all persons from the database: viewtopic.php?f=150&t=18864#p233369

Re: EHM 1 Database & Saved Game Editor
Archi,
I am having an issue working with importing player career history, when I import this spreadsheet it's deleting all entries for these players. Any idea what might be causing it?

Re: EHM 1 Database & Saved Game Editor
It looks like the career history table display is not updating after importing data. However, the histories aren't being deleted; they're just not displayed. If you save your DB and re-load the Editor, you'll find they're all there (including the imported ones).xECK29x wrote:Archi,

I have put fixing this to the top of my list for the next release.

Re: EHM 1 Database & Saved Game Editor
Can I ask something else? I've been having a bit of a play around with the database seeing what it can do, adding teams to leagues etc.
I seem to have everything working bar one thing - and it's a rather annoying thing. I get one error message constantly when you look at the news feed for any team I GM. So basically, everytime I click on a message or click the button Read-all etc it shows this message:
NEWS_ITEM::get_data() : the index is invalid
I'm scratching my head a little bit so any suggestions?

Re: EHM 1 Database & Saved Game Editor
Are you running version 0.2.6 of the Editor? I cannot tell from the screenshots. The version is stated in the window title bar.
If you are, then it's a bit of a mystery as I cannot reproduce the issue here and knowing the underlying mechanism of the dates. Assuming this to be the case, I'll add some sort of diagnostics to the next version of the Editor to help try to get to the bottom of the issue.
It is hard to say what the issue might be without knowing what you have edited. The only time I have heard of this error arising is where a league has a large number of teams added (IIRC a number of around 42+ teams will result in this error).Kart99 wrote:Can I ask something else? Re: EHM 1 Database & Saved Game Editor
I may have a solution then. For kicks I created a league of 50 teams, so in theory I should just edit it back down to 42 or so teams and see is that sorts the issue?

Re: EHM 1 Database & Saved Game Editor
Yes that should sort it (you might have to go as low as 40, but I think you can get to 42 safely).Kart99 wrote:I may have a solution then. For kicks I created a league of 50 teams, so in theory I should just edit it back down to 42 or so teams and see is that sorts the issue?

Hi I have some problem with my research. I have dates in excel http://prntscr.com/i8ktdy but when I import my spreadsheet editor give me errors and changes to this http://prntscr.com/i8ky0d I have Europe format dates so I dont know where is problem
If players go out from club to the other there is no problem with import... problem is just with players who are coming to clubs from other leagues...

Re: EHM 1 Database & Saved Game Editor
Small feature request, is it possible to add a button to automatically generate updated statistics (in the Statistics tab) for current and career stats for a player based on what is in History?

This is the same problem CJ had with his spreadsheet. Go to the top left corner of the spreadsheet and change the "dmy" text to "ymd".ppaalloo wrote:Hi I have some problem with my research. Yes I can add a button to do that. I take it you are aware that these stats are also automatically updated when loading and saving the DB?xECK29x wrote:Small feature request, is it possible to add a button to automatically generate updated statistics (in the Statistics tab) for current and career stats for a player based on what is in History?

Re: EHM 1 Database & Saved Game Editor
Hello. I haven't been on the forum for a while because of lack of time, but I just had to stop by to say thank you Archibalduk for your amazing work on this editor. I happened to download to latest rosters yesterday (haven't even played the game for half a year I think) and later found myself editing the database for four hours straight during the night. I had to stop because it was 4 am and I needed some sleep.
So my ultimate message is this: thank you so much, and please do keep up the awesome work, Arch!

Re: EHM 1 Database & Saved Game Editor
Hi Ppalloo. I sent you an email with your fixed spreadsheets. This is the same issue CJ had. It looks as though Excel/LibreOffice does something to the dates if you enter them with "/" as the separator (e.g. 1/2/1990). The temporary solution is to use "." as the separator (e.g. 1.2.1990). I have an idea of how to automatically fix this - I'll add this to the next version of the Editor. In the meantime, just use "." in dates for now.ppaalloo wrote:Hi I have some problem with my research. Re: EHM 1 Database & Saved Game Editor
I think this is a language issue for the programs we use (Excel/LibreOffice). Countries write dates in different ways and with different characters.ppaalloo wrote:I use this style archyThe temporary solution is to use "." as the separator (e.g. 1.2.1990).but I dont know why excel put to error list this (e.g. 1/2/1990)....
For example, I had some issues in a schedule file I sent Archi the other day and he could not see the error but I could.
When I fill in the DOBs in ppaalloos Tipsport-file then they turn up ok

So you have 1/2/1990 types of dates in your excels?
