My last career thread about th 98 WHL Blades will stay buried because I lost the save file along with my prev comp.
So I decided to try playing with the updated db instead, this time starting the game unemployed. Now, I've done this a couple times before, so I expect to get a job somewhere around december. It could also take an entire season to find a place to land, who knows. I know I would prefer a GM spot in one of the top rookie leagues in NA, but I could see myself going to the ECHL or AHL if spots open up. We'll see how this progresses.

Well, had to wait until January, before finally being offered a job by Val-d'Or Foreurs of the QMJHL.
The Foreurs play in the western division and their worst rivals are the Huskies from the neighbouring town of Rouyn-Noranda. That's all I know about the team. Too bad the Huskies are doing very well with stars like d-man Zach Lauzon, forwards MathieuBoucher, Alxandre Fortin and Partick Hrechorak and goalie Samuel Harvey. Gilles Bouchard has his guys at 51 points, while the Foreurs, lying in last place in the western division, has 30 in 43 games.
The first thing I had to do was to get the team a scouting staff. Mario Durocher was also relieved of his position as head coach and replaced by Randy Hillier. The teams biggest star is russian 19-yo center Maxim Mizyurin and 20-yo d-man David Henley. We also have a few 16-yo prospects in d-men Anthony Allepot and Maxence Guenette and lw Benjamin dion, who plays on my first line together with big brother Yan. Jacob Delorme is a 17 yo goalie proscpect, projected to become very good. There's also a 16 yo Jonathan Lemieux and 19-yo Alexandre Plourde, but they're nowhere near as good as Delorme.
Difficult to say how the rest of the season will pan out with these guys, but I'll keep ya posted.

Well got my own season underway with a solid 5-2 win away at Blainville-Boisbriand Armada. No easy game, although they were just ahead in the standings. They're powered by a solid d led by captain Quinn Hanna and RD star Pascal Corbeil and have a few outstanding fwds in Jan Hladonik, Alexandre Alain and Alex Barre-Boulet. The game included a nice goal by the teams new first line with younger brother Benjamin Dion setting up older brother Yan to score the 4-1 goal that would seal the game in the 3rd. No fights in this game, which is a bit surprising the way I'm usually playing. Plourde had a good solid game in net and I got some good secondary scoring from all my lines, so a good start all in all.
Lucky for me my young team didn't get pushed around too much (got some big boys in there), cause I noticed my roster pool is two players deep. I hope I can snag some good prospects in the upcoming QMJHL draft.
