Pretty easy. I'll do a quick walk-thru here later today if you just want to do a simple swap like that.

Perfect thanks, it's really the schedule that I've never worked with ... especially as I'll be moving at least one to another conference ... appreciate it

Just started a new game with a July 2nd start. Using the save provided here https://www.dropbox.com/s/673ejgl3brajz ... t.zip?dl=0 that includes draft picks already picked.

Little worried about the UFA signings as the money seems way off:
JVR 2.3M
Stastny 2.7M
W. Karlsson 2.3M
Carlson 3.4M

Also - minor thing but I'm playing as Monthreal & Laval. For some reason I can't release Lefebvre who is listed as both GM/Head Coach even after I took over as GM. Strange?

UFA's in the game when you start with an early date and have a big UFA pool generally sign contracts that are short-term and for not much money. Not sure why. Have always had this issue.

So in that game you are GM of both Montreal and Laval (obviously as two separate people) and you can't fire the HC? Does seem strange, I wonder if that is a function of the GM/HC dual role that some minor league and junior teams appoint? In the process of getting NHL/AHL/CHL staff updated for the next release but in terms of the actual issue here, I wager it is with the game mechanics.

Realpity - sorry I have not gotten back, just been busy. What team do you want to move from East to West to make room for Quebec and to fill Arizona's spot?

Here's a new v6.0 of the NHL32 - Seattle 2018-19 Database, Post-Draft!

- Big news of course is the 2018 draft is all entered, rights are all distributed so you'll be setup for the new season and next year's 2019 draft will run accurately.

- All major transactions of course, NHL, N.A., major Euro leagues, CHL, NCAA, feeder leagues etc as of 6/23/18. Includes Kovalchuk to the Kings, the Grubauer trade, the Hamilton-Hanfifin trade, etc.

- Includes structural updates for North American leagues for 2018-19 as well.

- I've totally revamped much of the Canadian and United States hockey structure. I've gotten tired of having hundreds of leagues and thousands of teams that don't populate very much ever so I've actually condensed many of the midget, bantam, junior B/C, high school and minor college leagues. High level programs like Shattuck, Pursuit, Delta, Notre Dame Hounds, etc still exist but in many cases entire leagues have been condensed into single teams based on league name or geographic location. The result I find is a streamlined game and teams that get more fully stocked. I can go into much further detail about this if you want to know but for now just know this was a conscious decision of mine and is a direction I want to take this database.

- I've also re-done all the logos to match this new structure in "Dani 9" style with the oversized team logos and glossy small logos for ALL US and Canadian leagues and teams in the database (when combined with his amazing logopack). So after you download his latest logo pack, download the extension pack for North American NHL36/32 logos below, extract to your logos folder and overwrite when asked. Not only will it add the logos based on the NHL36/32 league structure but it will add new teams for 2018-19 and tweak some existing logos to better color match the team data in the NHL36/32 database.

- I will also do some streamlining and logo updating to European leagues in future releases.

- Note the NAHL is unstable at the moment if you try to play it, I'll fix that when I update the schedule for 18-19. So don't pick the NAHL.

DOWNLOAD DATABASE HERE:
Version 6.0 - NHL32 Seattle (June 23, 2018)
https://www.dropbox.com/s/nt1k31tmc2stf ... 0.zip?dl=0

Here are the NHL36/32 North American logos - remember download Dani9's latest logopack FIRST and then add/overwrite this set to complete the NHL36/32 logos

Awesome to see, thanks for doing this! And just a quick question on the contract thing that was mentioned. Do the FAs become more likely to sign a long-term and/or big money contract on a specific start date? I used the early start date as well on your last update and had the same thing

Uploaded new version (links above still valid, also a new version in the NHL36 thread). Guys, I can't re-create this error - I did get an error in the summer of 2019 about staff on a temporary contract but clicked through it and nothing crashed. I can advance play while managing a team beyond October 1/2 and beyond April 1/2 with no issues. Let me know if you keep having the issue and exactly what your settings are - what leagues you have turned on, what detail level the leagues are, what starting settings you had checked, what sim detail level you are using and what teams you are controlling as a human GM.

Thanks!

Issue popped up again for me with today's download. I am acting as Seattle. I have all Canadian, Denmark Germany Slovakia and Sweden active but not enhanced. AHL and echl also active. Only league enhanced is NHL. 10/1 to 10/2.

With the save I was able to resign from the team and the league made it past 10/1. I did resign and moved to another NHL team and the league was able to proceed.

Same workaround of resigning from team worked with previous save from previous 6.0.

Based on what I am seeing there is something with controlling Seattle on 10/1

I'm seeing an error when starting up the database where I can't select the KHL because "Found 25 teams in database, expected 27."

KHL won't be playable until the new schedule comes out. The league structure has been updated for the new 25-team alignment. The schedule is not out yet. Make sure you read the release notes in this thread, that is among the items noted.

MJalove - I just set up the exact scenario, with the same league setup, with Seattle as a human controlled team and was able to play through both the October 1-2 date and the April 1-2 dates with no issues. Now, as this has happened to multiple people and not just you, obviously there is something going on...what about your details screen when you are setting up the game? Here's what mine looks like - what differences do you (or anybody having this issue with NHL32/NHL36) have from mine? Trying to see if perhaps there is a setting here that is messing things up. Maybe even try a new game setup with the options below and let me know if you still have the issue. Thanks for all the input BTW from everybody. I know EHM errors can be frustrating! [-(

I had a thought and I went with it. I recalled all my scouts and then I was able to go past Oct 1 in both my saves from the last two releases that crashed on 10/1

After further testing looks like if I remove my scouts from scouting the draft there is no issue or stop. My best guess there is something triggering the crash on the days the draft rankings emails come out, which is why we have seen the 10/1 and 4/1 crashes when scouting the draft.

Great work - I might not have caught that in a hundred years. How did you realize that might be the issue? In my test sims, I didn't send my scouts out which is probably why everything worked fine. Now I just have to figure out why it is happening. In the meantime, I think there will just have to be a disclaimer about maybe just having your scouts recalled on those specific days...or at least maybe just making sure you do your scouting of the draft between October and April. Thanks again for the input.

Just a heads up, I've noticed some interesting trends in my testing of "combining" lower levels of leagues to try and de-clutter and simplify the database...

- Because the OHL and QMJHL drafts pull from midget-level hockey, by combining midget level Canadians teams, I've reduced the pool for the Canadian draftees from those provinces and now I am seeing them populate the U.S. major midget leagues. So I will probably re-expand the OHL/QMJHL midget levels to release some of that pressure.

- In contract, since the WHL pulls bantam level kids for the draft, the game is populating all the Eastern Canada and Central Canada bantam leagues with kids from out west because my contraction again restricted the number of teams that could be populated. And since the OHL and QMJHL pull from midget not bantam, the bantam levels in Central and Eastern Canada have plenty of space to accept these Western Canadian kids. So again, here I will re-expand the bantam levels out west more fully to give them more generation possibilities.

All in all, it's not that big a deal if you mainly play the NHL or other pro leagues and the CHL still functions perfectly fine but in the pursuit of some realism, you like to see kids in their respective CHL drafts coming from the bantam and midget leagues of that region of Canada.

Also, forgot to tell my U18 and U17 levels of the USNTDP to be restricted to Americans so they keep getting populated by Canadians! :-D

I tested out the scout thing because the sim I did I was already in year 2 and was trying to figure out what I did differently in year 1 to get past that date and remembered I forgot to send my scouts out. I then used that save as a baserand recalled the scouts and saw that it worked. Then I tried to see if there was a specific assignment that caused it. By removing different assignments and letting sim that's how I figured out it was scouting the draft. Glad I was able to help as I have been a big fan of the 32/36 project.

I've tried repeatedly to start a new game with this database, but it always crashes on startup. I even deleted EHM & did a complete reinstall to no avail. Any idea what might be going wrong & how I can solve the problem? Thanks for any assistance.

What leagues are you selecting? What does the crash say or does it just close? What screen is it crashing at or what is the point in the startup that it is crashing?

Need a bit more info...

I've had this issue when starting a new game in earlier versions of BK's db. My solution was not select some leagues. Didn't select leagues from Japan, Great Britain & possibly one more country to begin with. Did get the crash but the solution was to not select Finnish Suomi Sarja.

Hopefully it can help you or someone else. Have not played with the newest version so my solution could possibly be outdated.
