Some thoughts on this most recent testing (see my may 22nd post for parameters)...
Key/Essential/Non-Essential/Irrelevant Attributes seems to be working as intended
A couple observations
• Mental Attributes seem to be about the same regardless of the Player Role (which in makes sense I think)
• The gap between Essential and “normal/no designation” isn’t necessarily always significant with higher CA players
Along with similar observations while editing, I’ve read about the lack of “two-way” forwards (people noting they’re either just defensive or just offensive) & based on such feedback and the data compiled,
here are some possible suggestions for consideration to improve the number of more complete or “two-way” forwards…
• For All-Around forward , remove Non-Essential from Anticipation
• For Defensive/Defensive Finesse/Defensive Physical forwards remove Irrelevant from Offensive Role…make it “normal” with no special designation (or at least change Irrelevant to Non-Essential for Offensive Role)
• Do the same thing with Playmaker/Playmaker Finesse/Playmaker Physical forwards & Sniper/Sniper Finesse/Sniper Physical forwards and their Irrelevant for Defensive Role…make it “normal” with no special designation (or at least change Irrelevant to Non-Essential)
***It would be better if these suggested changes could only affect some but not all (for each Player Role some would stay as they are now and some would be changed as suggested above) but I suspect that might not be possible
I wonder if the Finesse Forward has having the Vision/Creativity Attribute as Essential makes them too much as a “top 6” player and not representing the many 3rd/4th liners who play a finesse game (and their lack of vision/creativity is often why they’re not a top 6 player…but they’re still a finesse player). Maybe/probably this isn’t necessary if Defensive/Defensive Finesse forwards have Irrelevant removed from their Offensive Role
Maybe I’m wrong in what I’m thinking…but I think
maybe in game scouting reports are affected by Offensive/Defensive Role ratings (and the extreme differences when one is Key and the other Irrelevant make players get presented as too one dimensional – all offense or all defense).
All thoughts/comments/feedback is welcome and appreciated!
