IDK, hoping for one of the roster guys to clarify on that. On my last game I ended up drafting six 'sons' of hall-of-famers and they did share things like general size, player role, birth place etc. But none of them were as talented as the 'fathers'. Some of them were solid NHLers, sure. But not superstars; only one I think had first line potential. If I had to guess some of these 'sons' might have one of those highly variable PA ratings at the start of the game.

In my QJMHL save, I picked up a guy in the Import Draft named Zlatan Ibrahimovic, so there's certainly some oddities with the young guns

What happened to the ability to play the RBC Cup/National Junior A Championship? Now, the BCHL season just ends at the league championship, on the game anyhow... What's with this? Also, it says 1000s of players added in the leagues, but where are they? Is that a previous version?

Yea even though these "sons" have the potential to be as good as their "fathers" it's not guaranteed, just a fun thing IAmActuallyAnOtter added a while back.ebenton99 wrote: Sun Mar 08, 2020 3:50 am Thats an interesting idea. While I have noticed that players like that exist in other versions of the database that I have saved and some do have very different potentials to their "parent" it seems like a lot of these players in the most recent version have very similar potentials to their real life counterparts. Just some bad luck with the RNG I guess?
Please see the post here for troubleshooting: https://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/v ... 59&t=20401TurboJ wrote: Sat Mar 07, 2020 11:21 pm I'm seeing quite a few issues for users of the latest database update.
What I'm wondering is if the older versions are available for download somewhere. I have been using the 12.1.x December 25th updated database file with much success, but since Steam updates subscribed files automatically I have lost those files now.
Looking to start a new career with a tried and tested database but I don't know if I can get the one that I have been using anywhere.
Any help is appreciated...
That failing could someone confirm that the latest database can run problem free for many years and if yes, with which settings? The only must things for me is to be able to play in the NHL and with the prospect generator seeded.
Thank you for your assistance.

We removed the older RBC Cup format in the game as it was made in a specific way that was not easy to update in the future, especially as teams folded and moved. These new leagues are using their real-life schedules so it makes it easier for us. We have been working on the regional and RBC Cup league structures and they will be back in a future release (likely over the summertime). It's going to be a weird year next year with this DB and everything going on world-wide with sports and COVID-19. Too much is up in the air to make any promises.scafe18 wrote: Wed Mar 11, 2020 6:08 am What happened to the ability to play the RBC Cup/National Junior A Championship? Actively debating just starting to flip the DB over to 2020-2021 after the 4.11 is tested and released this weekend. Even if hockey returns over the summer I can't see any major updates coming in the current DB.
My plans for a 2020-21 DB for right now would be a world-wide free agent frenzy type edition, where all projected UFA/RFAs across all playable leagues are just dropped to the pool and future transfers are imported across college and junior leagues. We would keep almost all of the league structures in-tact as is, but remove the real-life schedule templates for randomized schedule dates/templates. Being this would be more of a "fantasy DB" for next year (I don't think it will ever be possible to create a realistic 2020-2021 DB anyways) I would be open to including Seattle in it (or at least in an alternative version) for some added fun.
Any suggestions and feedback I am open to at this point.

Small updated posted to fix a database header inconsistency, may have been the culprit for some of the crash issues. Also fixed and added a league structure.

- Olympic games are not played
- No money will be paid out if the Champions Hockey League wins. It worked with an older TBL roster update. ( € 2,000,000 was paid out for the winner.) There is also no TV money for the CHL in the game.(http://www.shorthandednews.de/fuenf-wue ... ssere-chl/)

I'm wondering how are you going to deal with players who were loaned from NHL teams to Europe? Are you going to set an earlier date to the Euro leagues and later to NHL? I'm just curious

Great question! I will be assigning them as a loan in the DB or using the extra_config. These are technically full-season loans (short term loans are not supported AFAIK). These loans can be recalled at the start of the sim (or whenever for most leagues) by either the AI or human GM of the NHL team. I will also be adding loans for other leagues (USHL, CHL etc).Modano wrote: Tue Sep 22, 2020 10:58 pm I'm wondering how are you going to deal with players who were loaned from NHL teams to Europe? We will be providing an alternative database with an EMPTY Seattle Kraken (besides identified staff) and Palm Springs AHL club, the user can build the team themselves using the Editor. I will not be providing any draft kit sheet import or anything like that.

I want to congratulate all the team who worked on this ! Can't wait to try the DB. Hopefully, Riz update will come sooner than later, as it's now an hurdle in the development of the database. I hope we all have a lot of fun with this, I'll probably try to find time to make a story with the Kraken

Premier Pivot Rosters v5.0 (2020/21) Observations
First allow me to pass along a large thank-you for all the effort put in to keeping EHM current. Certainly very much appreciated.
A couple of observations regarding this current release.
1) Playing as the Montreal Canadiens during the pre-season, I am being approached by the agent for a certain Mitchell Beauchemin asking if I would to offer him a try-out. Nothing unusual about that... other than the fact that the player in question is shown as 14 years old.
2) Another observation is while all of my scouts show an initial yearly salary of $150,000, when looking to up-grade my scouting staff, unfortunately all of the alternative options I have looked at thus far, all want a starting salary in excess of $600,000+, which my senior management has put the kibosh on. Seems there is a disconnect here...
Still, those two little irritants aside, I haven't seen anything else that strikes me as particularly odd or out of place. In fact, after making my own FA signings
, I was pleased to see how many instances there were of other FA players signing with the very same clubs they signed with yesterday in the actual NHL. Bravo!
Well once again a thanks and hope you maintain the enthusiasm to keep up the good work
Cheers

I'm incredibly excited and incredibly grateful. This is so feature-rich, it's like a whole new EHM coming out!
Two little things I wanted to mention - one is that contract demands seem a little funky. Pietrangelo and Hall signed quickly into June for around 4mil but someone like a Tim Heed is asking for 2.87mil per year. Heed seems about right, but the top guys don't seem to be asking for enough early in free agency.
This was in the description and I'm bad at reading.
The other are Philadelphia Flyers specific things. Linus Sandin of HV71 in the SHL should have NHL rights with the Flyers. He's on loan back to HV71 now, but it looks like one of the many quick-recall NHL loans that have popped up this offseason. Additionally, Carter Hart seems to have a $5m contract in this database, but in reality he is on his entry-level deal for one more year.
Thanks again for the incredible work, this will make the NHL offseason fly by for me!

What this Rosters set need is Live Update so everyday Rosters are updated if we start Game with today's date. How about Minor League Affiliate's updates for next year? Also Division Geographical because I did but have to add 2 extra Teams Orlando Seals and Kansas City Scouts NHL and yes they are at T-Mobile Arena but might be in Las Vegas not KC because is not called Sprint Center anymore so 16 in each League but will get an Error Message when starting a new Game.
