When to scout the NHL Draft?

Post by Satyr_ »

I don't know why, but you can't scout the Draft permanent, only temporarily.

So, when do you guys scout the Draft? I usually scout with five scouts for two months from August till October, then shortlist the 4 and 5 star rated players, and the again two months, picking up the guys who were left out the first time.

Why can't I just permanently scout the Draft?

I usually scout the draft three times each year with two or three different scouts. I try to make the last scouting run as late as possible so that the scouts get a good luck of the players' latest development. Usually I also have one or two scouts working on the shortlist for the entire year. That way I seem to find pretty much all of the available info about the listed players.

3 times per year, 5 scouts, my best player potential guys. First two are normal and third which occurs in early April is intense. First two occur Dec and then Feb.
