EHM Database Settings Editor

The EHM 1 Database Settings Editor provides a simple way of fixing a database's settings; such as the database version number. Ordinarily, these settings can be edited using the EHM 1 Editor and so this tool won't typically be of much use. However, if the version number has been set incorrectly then the database cannot be loaded properly in the Editor because the Editor processes the database on the basis of the database version setting stored in the database. The EHM 1 Database Settings Editor can be used to fix a database's version setting so that it can be loaded properly in the Editor.

NOTE: In order to change the database's version, both of the "Created With Version" and "Database Version" settings must be updated.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
IMPORTANT! You must first install the Microsoft Visual Studio 2019 Redistributable before you attempt to run the tool otherwise it will crash. You must install the 64-bit version (also known as vcredist_x64.exe).

The Redistributable can be downloaded here: https://aka.ms/vs/16/release/VC_redist.x64.exe

Once you have installed the Redistibutable, just extract the contents of the Editor zip file wherever you like and double-click on 'EHM DB Settings Editor.exe' to load the tool.


RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR
I highly recommend enabling Run as Admin in order to ensure that the tool is able to save your database files. As EHM is normally installed in the C:/Program Files/... set of folders, the tool is unable to save databases within that folder structure unless Run as Admin is enabled (otherwise it either won't save or you will end up with shadow copies in your Roaming folder).

To enable Run as Admin, right-click on 'EHM DB Settings Editor.exe' and click on Properties -> Compatibility -> tick the box labelled "Run this program as an administrator".

Just to add: If you find that the Editor is freezing/crashing at "Finance Info" when loading the database, the above tool will fix the issue. Step-by-step instructions can be found here: https://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/v ... 10#p243010

This tool was created because there was a bug in an old versions of the Editor where the Database Version and Created With Version settings would be corrupted. Changing both settings back to 1025 will fix the issue, enabling you to load the DB in the latest version of the Editor.
