FHM 7 - Can't get NHL draft

Picked up FHM7 and have tried several different historical games and I have the draft rookies box checked at startup but the game will not give me the option to sim minor leagues (as it does if selecting 2021 standard) and thus create a draft; after June 30 the next event is HOF induction and then Sept 1 preseason, no draft. What am I doing wrong? I read in the OOTP board "make sure the box is checked", well I did, but still no joy.

You're probably best asking this either over on the OOTP forums or the HFBoards thread (HERE). There's relatively few FHM users on TBL as far as I'm aware. The HFBoards thread is probably a good shout as their PR guy is fairly active on there and comes back pretty quickly on questions.

Got it figured out, a chap on UT helped me. Here it is, if anyone else ever asks: in FHM in NHL EVENTS the draft won't be listed, and to add to this, unlike in EHM, the draft happens July 3rd! I was always checking events which showed nothing, then auto sim to June 30 with no draft and starting over.

Still not sure if I am 100% of FHM, I do like that you can have players from 1917 showing up in 2010, and it seems a bit harder to build a dynasty then in EHM, but EHM just flows better IMO.
