Oh, the Milbury story keeps getting better. Much like him in real life.
So, he fired himself from the coaching job, but is still GM (as per the last post). Oddly, he seems to have this British fellow co-GM'ing along with him, but I'm willing to gloss over that:
However, having fired himself from coaching, Coach Milbury took on the prestigious job of GM for Jacksonville in the ECHL. GM Milbury is still GM of the Islanders, as you can clearly see in the screenshot above.
It turns out that Coach Milbury has been a busy man, GM'ing Augusta before moving on to Jacksonville:
But, as the record states... He hasn't hired a new coach for the Islanders. He's only had three years, don't rush the man. So of course he does the only reasonable team and keeps on coaching the Islanders too.
I only remembered this whole farce because I was expecting Lemaire, my coach, to grab the Jack Adams award in 05/06... Boy was I wrong. Guess who took home the award? Mike 'I GM two teams and do some NHL head coaching in my spare time' Milbury!
Busy man, that Milbury dude.
