first off, thank you tremendously for this database. my 40yo midlife crisis has brought me back to my fav game after years of not gaming at all, and it seriously feels like I'm playing EHM 2023, so thank you

second, I've piggybacked off your hard work and expanded the NCAA tourney in my own save to 32 teams and am wondering if its possible to edit the Round names so I can have Round of 32, Round of 16, Quarterfinals, Frozen Four, National Championship instead of the default round names

Thanks for the kind words! Have you tried added those Stage Names? Sometimes changing round names can induce issues but if you need help let me know, you can PM me on Steam or Discord.

I haven't played in eons. I took over a local Junior A team, something I've never done before. No problem. Played an entire season. The following season, the entire BCHL is short of players and there's not enough players to come close to dressing a full team. True for every team. I can only dress 9 players total. Every other team is grossly undermanned. It doesn't seem like there's enough players to properly dress a team at these low levels. I've scoured youth free agents, most of which I can't sign for reasons. Is this normal with EHM, or is this a result of this database and selecting "Disable Extra Players and Staff," because I did this and now it's pointless even trying to proceed. I get this is more NHL focused, but how does this affect the game going forward if there is seemingly an underwhelming number of youth players? I was hoping to start at the bottom this time and work up.

you can fix this yourself if you open the DB with the EHM Editor, open the OJHL in Competitions, go to Stages and set the Basic Data Competition to the OJHL

one thing I've noticed is that while playing as an NCAA team I cannot Approach to Sign NAHL players, but I occasionally see emails where other NCAA D-I teams have offered contracts to NAHL players... perhaps by design? minor but wanted to mention it

The 8.4 update should help here, in previous releases we had the PG set back a bit further while we did some more testing/tuning. Now it will have players as old as 15 added right away. If you are planning to play a junior league though as GM I would recommend enabling Extra Junior Players -- HOWEVER I have been able to steadily reproduce a bug that causes Team Canada (both mens and U20) national teams not to work...why I have no idea! So I would suggest enabling that setting, vacation simming until the U20 world juniors in December and see if the team fills up.

- Updated PG potential levels to match the level of talent seen in the 2019-2024 drafts inclusive to give more consistency in talent in longer-term saves
- Created some new player archetypes, particularly on the defensive defencemen and forward roles
- Created more targeted mid-level ability prospects to help fill in the gaps between PA level 140-150 and 160-170
- Created "fill-in" players for the 2028 NHL draft year (last draft year between IRL prospects and the PG kicking in). These players are available to be immediately drafted in CHL league drafts, removing the need to use "Generate Extra Junior Players" if you play as a GM in those leagues
- Increased the floor of most major nation players to 110 from 90
- Lowered the ceiling of most non-major nation players from 140 to 120

Seems to be problem with Deutschland Cup.
Play test game with Danish national team and couldnt pick roster for the tournament. Couldn´t either proceed to the game because got message that I haven´t dressed enough domestic players.

Running into game crashes every time I play NCAA and get to where the season preview news article generates (around September 20th). It's happened on three separate saves.

Looking at the beta release article from 2021 they addressed an issue relating to the season preview news article, but I'm not sure it's related. Wondering because the NCAA is around 60+ teams:

Need more detail, right off the bat that is kind of...expected? Players are going to want to makes sure they will have a big role to play, would need a save and some examples of what you feel are problematic asks. There is only so much I can control when it comes to financials and a lot of it is subjective.

Small patch uploaded for Pivot (v8.6.1), I promise I will update TBL this weekend/early next week!


General Updates:

- Latest notable transactions

- Implemented a maximum consistency and important matches value for players based on their PA. During testing this has reduced the gap between Elite and 1A goalies. Makes goalie save percentages match closer to IRL. At the highest level of play reduces the ability for a team to continuously win championships based purely on having the best goalie. -- thanks IAmActuallyAnOtter!!

- Added in option to choose between negative PA ranges and 10 point PA bands

- Reduced "sons" potential abilities

- Changed all injury proneness and natural fitness to 0 for more variability

- Removed Junior Preference from players after testing proves this gives better sim results (Thank you Penguin!)

- Added in a minimum consistency level for goalies based on PA to improve performance of lower level goalies (Backup/replacement NHL level)

- Added in more 2008/2009 DB's to fill out first year junior drafts (specifically WHL Bantam)
