I wanted to test something if I use less league would it mean the prospect for draft change.
While I started testing and I chose NHL and qjmhl only using the recommended settings.
Is it normal the sim speed takes forever? I put NHL to later stage everything else at none like I start unemployed.
Sim a full season with the speed would look to almost take a full day seem a bit much.

Is it normal that it takes that much time?

This database is much bigger then older databases and other projects so it will be slower, pending on the clock speed of your CPU it might be better to reduce the database size or detail level if its too slow.

I'm going to unfortunately skip the August update and push the next one September1st for Pivot, there is more league structure work I want to get done. I have had a busier last month then usual and less time for editing.

Also, did you think of the way you will handle Johnny Gaudreau in the database ?

General Updates:

- Latest notable transactions worldwide for playable leagues

-- Automated re-rates for all players/staff for all notable and playable leagues! If you do not agree with these changes please offer to help and suggest changes!

- Extensive cleanup of UFA players/staff - ~10k of entries removed! Thanks ArchibauldUK!!

- Cleanup and refresh of player rights for junior leagues

- Cleanup and assignment of preferred jobs for specific staff roles (such as management and physios)

- Extensive player career history refresh including massive additions of goalie stats -- thanks ArchibauldUK!!

- Cleanup and fixes to Nation data such as nationalities and abbreviations -- thanks Vik3tbotselektor!!


NHL Updates:

- RIP Johnny & Matthew Gaudreau, Johnny's number has been retired on Columbus and Calgary in memorium

- Prospect Generator reverted back to an older version (from 2023-24) with tweaks and minor updates. After doing some A/B testing myself I feel the more modern "balanced" sheet that the game expects....just wasn't fun! Today's NHL has more players jumping right into the league and making an immediate impact, even down to 2nd rounders in some cases, the PG should be similar. Further tweaks will be made to this generator to add in the fixes to the bottom six/pair type players that are solid in the modern PG.

-- I can say with testing there should be NO MORE gaps in draft quality, you will see impact players in 2026+ right away. No more high potential players with awful mentals or other flaws.

- Latest signings and trades and staff lists updated

- NHL/AHL re-rates for various players/prospects -- thanks Seanie for sharing!!

- Aligned roster limit end date with trade deadline day

- Adjusted max years allowed for contracts (game was adding an extra year)

- RFAs now count against the Reserve List

- Updated affiliations

- Updated several staff and player DOBs, sorry if it broke your pictures!

- Updated club player records


Austrian Updates:

Does that mean we can start a new save using the Oberliga but just can't finish the season 1 or will there be a new save created once you will fix it?

Russian leagues view-only, both US start dates crashes.

I can't reproduce this, try unsubscribing/resubscribing, if you are still having the issue DM me on Steam or Discord. Make sure you are not using the Russian start date, you must use July 2nd if you select the KHL or VHL as the schedules were moved up to start in August.

No it means we had to take it out last minute before release, once we are able to fix it we will put it back into the DB, you will need to start a new game, we cannot modify save games.

Incorrect rules for foreign players in the KHL:
1) The limit on foreign players in the KHL from this season is not 3 players, it's 5 players. Ok, I can fix it myself in the editor.
2) But when you start a save, all foreign teams (Dynamo Minsk, Barys, Kunlun) start to break contracts with "extra" foreign players and use only 5 foreign players in matches, although there is no limit on foreign players for these teams in real life.

Couple weird things as I've done 3-4 seasons now ... for NHL when it comes time to vote for Vezina Trophy it keeps putting up players that only played a few games, as low as 1 for one of the candidates ... also at the start of the season games get rescheduled and later you end up playing two games on the same day ... simultaneously

Start of season release will come at the earliest Saturday PM ET, latest Thursday ET AM or afternoon, I'll be away parts of next week. This will include a Pivot update + TBL release, unfortunately my 90s project will have to wait, I'll be swinging back to that and hoping to have that released before the end of the year. I'll let the community know when that is ready for extensive testing, I may choose to move it to Pivot 9.x which would slow it down more but TBD.

Can you PM me on Steam/Discord or here, I'd like to see the save and wonder if this is the same issue as AI teams playing their backup goalies over the clear starters. Would also like to see the scheduling issue. If those are constantly rescheduled I'll just update the template but need to know what teams were involved.

Going to post this only here as this community has the most ties to Riz and is where this all started. The database project may be coming to an end with some of these issues. I don't see ways to consistently fix these problems and I'm getting more and more demotivated the more testing I do. Without assistance from Riz to help with debugging to determine if these are logical game issues or not I can't see how this project will continue to the standard I hold for myself.

Restored the Pivot DB back to the July 7th update, this appears to be a more stable version, be patient as I'm still working through issues and trying to find a path forward.
