There's some quality veterans who are FA's this summer. Surely some small club could sign them all and get fairly far in the playoffs?!
Brett Hull
Brendan Shanahan
Chris Chelios
Steve Yzerman
Dave Andreychuk
Jassen Cullimore
Mike Keane
Richard Matvichuk
Vincent Damphousse
Mike Ricci
Eric Lindors
Pavel Bure
Adam Deadmatsh
Jason Allison
Al MacInnes
Byron Dafoe
Shayne Corson
Mike Kunble
Glen Murray
Brian Rolston
Alexei Zhitnik
James Patrick
Craig Conroy
Chris Simon
Peter Nedved
Zigmund Pallfy
Theo Fleury
Teemu Selanne
Paul Kariya
The list is endless.
The only thing putting off the teams is the whole CBA mess. If that's sorted out then there should be some interesting signings...
See the ESPN article about it here.

Hi Calv.
Right, interesting list. But there are some "big" names that signed.
Matvichuk (Devils), Rolston (Wild), Conroy (LA). Deadmarsh and Allison are done (Concussions, both out since last year) Bure ditto, Fleury suspended, Chelios will only sign for Detroit again. And the most of the list is VERY OLD: Hull,Yzerman,Andreychuk,Damphousse etc.
So the only big remaining are: Kariya, Selänne and Palffy in my Opinion. These Guys could make the difference on the right team.
But lets see what the CBA is bringing......
