Question for SEL fans

Post by noctambulist »

My mother is going on vacation soon to Stockholm, and I want her to pick me up a hockey jersey while she's there. Having very limited knowledge of the SEL, do you guys have any suggestions to which one she should pick up?

I'm leaning towards Frolunda Indians, pretty much only because P.J. Axelsson played there. But I also like Linkoping's logo.

My back-up is the Swedish National Team jersey.

Of course my absolute favorite Swedish team is the
Swedish Bikini Team =P~

Me too, but I don't think anyone would want to see me in one

Go with the Frölunda one, of course. 8-)

I must say I think this season's jersey kind of sucks. We had an awesome one during the lockout, though. It was pretty much the Wild's alternate jersey with FRÖLUNDA written across it, like on a Rangers jersey, you know.

It also sucks that SEL teams usually don't sell real jerseys, they sell these thin replica thingies instead.

Go for Djurgardens. There have players like Mats Sundin (Even though he plays for Toronto), Kent Nilsson and more. :-D

Don't buy Djurgården's. After all, they might not even be an SEL team next year. :P

It may be true, but I hope it's not going to be true. [-o<

BTW, Djurgården's got one of the most classic club symbols in Swedish hockey, if not the most classic. :joy:

Just an update. My mom leaves for Stockholm tomorrow and since I couldn't decide on what jersey to have her pick up for me (too many cools ones to choose from and not being sure if she would even know where to look for one) I sent her picture of the National Team's Jersey. I figured if she could find a hockey jersey, it would probably be that one. Kind of like finding a Yankee's jersey in the US or a Manchester United jersey in England. I also figured that more people here in the US would recognize it than a club jersey.

Though I would love to see the look on Axelsson's face when I show up during warm-ups wearing a Frölunda jersey :)

I wonder how he would feel indeed, the reaction of Finnish players when my friend wears her Suomi national jersey is pretty nice. I think she has around 15-20 signatures on there by now.

I think it would be hard too find a Frölunda jersey in Stockholm actually.
