Unrealistic

Post by Lukeozade100 »

I started my third season thinking who shall I get :?
Then for a joke i offered a contract to Jozef Balej
Guess what for one season only on £50,000+ a £100,000 signing on fee
here comes JOZEF BALEJ skating onto the ice for Coventry Blaze
I have only played two games, first 3+3 second 2+1
Looks like i'm onto a winner
I now have Byron Dafoe as my goalkeeper on a 3 year deal, which i can understand because he happens to be British and no NHL teams wanted him and I got him around 10 games in when he must of ralized no NHL team wanted him,
But now JOZEF BALEJ a top winger in the NHL playing for an EIHL team that hasn't even got one other player of his standard in the whole league (it did youst to have one (Marius Holtet) )
So i'm happy but the game needs a patch to sort this out
(even if it's only so I can keep getting NHL players but other teams in the league can as well)

P.S He is the only decent player I have been able to sign so I have last years and a few young Brits cause he gobbled up all my transfer and wages money

That does seem a bit extreme. :?
The only NHL players that would come here IRL are those who can't cope with the pace of the NHL and expect to retire in a year or two. Also, those who don't quite make the NHL and don't want to be stuck in the minors for the rest of their career.

No offence, but i think those players would prefer the Finnish Eliteleague or the Swedish Eliteseries

TBH, most North American players would probably rather play in many other leagues before the UK :( . The only real attraction that the UK has is that we speak the same language and so it is easier to settle in.

There is a rumour though that a fairly good NHL'er from Maple Leafs may be coming to Coventry Blaze, supposedly he will be the BIGGEST signing ever in Britain :!:

Jeez, that would be awesome!
Maybe it would increase the international reputation of the British leagues.

and Owen Nolan was born in Belfast. I think he is still under contract to the Leafs though so I don't think he could play for the Giants if there is a lockout, however that would be very cool if he did play for Belfast, as well as other NHLers playing in the UK, that could be the only upside of a lockout I could think of

The thing IS seeing as there is only one year on his contract would they want to keep him when he is not even playing? The only reason a team as far as I could see would keep paying the contract would be if they were a major player, and would still have there contract going after the shutout.
IF it goes ahead that is
My idea may be flawed as he may not get paid for his contract anyway with the shutout

Unfortunately Lukeozade, if an NHL player is under contract to his NHL team he is not allowed to sign to play in another league, hence why all the NHLers coming to play in Europe are RFA or UFA this year

if you guys are holding your breath thinking that Robert Reichel that guy from toronto is going to make an impact......HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA

HE SUCKS!!!!!!! he is 1 of the worst players on toronto!!!!!!!! Unless your league there really sucks i doubt he will even be a big star yes maybe a star on a team but he really sucks..... he cant even score 20 goals in the NHL so maybe he will in the UK but he wouldnt be a star and whoever signs him will over pay him SO much, someone would have to pay me to get him on my team and even then i wouldnt but him on the ice

Sadly the UK league is not a particularly good league. I think he would become a star but he would be the biggest star skill-wise in the league.

As for the pic under your name, scroll to the top of the page and click on "profile". Then scroll to the bottom of that page. You have two options:
1) Upload your own pic - it must be no larger than 75x75 and it can't exceed 15Kb.
2) Use a pic from the gallery (we have various team logos). Click on show gallery and choose your pic and then click "submit".
Once you've either uploaded your pic or chosen one from the gallery, you must click on "submit" at the bottom of your profile. Let me know if you have any probs :)

P.S. I've deleted your double post
