Just for giggles I started up a game with the LA Kings. I tried to cut the payroll very aggressively while still maintaining a decent level of talent. I got rid of over paid older players, junk prospects (all except the Jack Johnson fake), and other dead weight. I got my payroll down to $28.83M and not one player makes more than $2.5M per season. I've also got 2 1st rounders, 4 2nd rounders, and 2 3rd round picks. The hardest player to get rid of was Rob Blake. He's very talented but he's 36 years old and makes $6M per season. I just couldn't hang on to him. The funny thing is, when I offered him around the league nobody wanted him! Actually, it was more a case of nobody being able to take on his salary. He only had a 3 star trade value too. I finally found a taker but I got hardly anything for him. Anyhow, the Kings could shape up to be a VERY interesting team to play in the challenge.

Any-who... I'm going to play around with them for now. I'll start over if the Kings end up being the team we run the challenge with. If not, it doesn't matter all that much. I can probably whip through a season in no time before moving on to the challenge.

So... any idea on when we're starting the new challenge? It looks like we've got the Kings barely edging out the Thrashers so far.

:groupwave: Happy Birthday! :groupwave:

Have fun!

As for the challenge, I've already been fiddling with the Kings and they're an interesting team. Great scouting staff, good head coach, and some nice young prospects. I haven't really messed around with the Thrashers yet. Should be interesting either way.

Calv is a key part of Team TBL but I think I'll lock this thread now so he doesn't get a big upon head seeing two threads filled with birthday wishes, he's not quite that cool 8-) :-D
