Help with logos

Post by crosby87 »

I've tried creating logos for some of the teams in my game, but can't make it look right. They appear in the game, but are either way too big, way too small, or surrounded by a stupid white box.

I've brought back a few old teams that have moved (Quebec, Winnipeg etc) and I'd really like to put their logos in the game to make a touch more real.

Any help would be gretly appreciated!

Welcome to TBL!

To help with your logos, the first question I'd have to ask is what graphics software are you using? To make things look smooth in-game takes a bit more than Microsoft Paint unfortunetly! What teams did you say you were intested in? I have a bunch of old logos on my comp and I could easily make them to size for you, that way you could just install them in the proper directories. Cool?

Again, welcome and feel free to ask as many questions as you like! Also, we usually ask when you started playing EHM and what led to you to TBL! Thanks for joining!

Cheers mate.

Sorry just missed that post! I don't think I have anything here more sophisticated than MS paint :(

I'm trying to make logos for Hartford, Quebec, Winnipeg, Minnesota North Stars and just about any other old time logo I can get my hands on.

crosby87: first of all, welcome to TBL =D>

You won't be able to do good things with MS paint, i'm afraid...

And if you don't have money to spend in Paintshop Pro or stuff like this, try GIMP, which is a good freeware used by some of our graphic workers

I don't remember the link, but i guess someone will post it here soon for you ;)

Hope that helps :)

Thanks!

I'm pretty dumb when it comes to doing anything with an art program which is pretty much why I'm here...

ElQuapo exlpained in another thread on how to get GIMP working so all credit to him for this:

http://gimp-win.sourceforge.net/stable.html

First install the GTK+ 2 Runtime Environment and then install GIMP itself.

Otherwise, if you have any requests, I'm sure there's someone who will be willing to help you ;)

okay, I'm a little foggy here, what part of the screen are these logos on that you guys want? news items? backgrounds? I can make a bunch to size if you give me the sizes and teams you need. word? word.

cheers.

I'm not looking for backgrounds or anything else!
