On the fly seems to be the theme of the night; in RL our theater's new location shut down tonight due to not having heat since there's a brutal cold snap gripping the area with single digit temps (F) and 30 mph winds mixed with snow flurries. So we cancelled shows...

While I was playing phone tag about if we'd have a show or not I missed the lock time to import our Toronto set list for Nashville tonight   So I was in the LIVE show interface swapping things around to compensate and decided to try some new ideas. In the process The Dead Generation successfully played our first encore tonight!

The audience even was up to 'nice' rating 8-) but the show was still overall 'below average'. I think if we jam our songs up a bit more and do the same basic set in B.A. we can reach 'mediocre' which is the next step up the ladder :joy:

About hitching rides with other bands, if you want to see when the next bands are leaving for your desired city you need to move your character to the Bus Terminal not the Travel Route to check the list of departures. Usually this isn't much of an issue except for long distances, and I think it's first come-first served and if you leave to locale you lose your place in line so to speak...

For anyone with a pet:

I have a "use" option for my hamster in my items list... what happens if I "use" him?

Oh that was just wrong :-p

All those messages you get about a rabbit named Emmie sniffing you? Are from April "using" her rabbit on the interactions screen.
I don't know about other aminals but Emmie makes people fall in luv with April too, it raises the 'romance' bar noticeably :-D

EDIT: Actually I do know about one other animal; if you use an alligator when you go to 'pet' him you'll pull back a stump and need to go to the hospital (seriously...)

If a hamster named Hamsterzilla is sniffing you, it's John's one :D

I haven't pay attention to the eventual effect on the romance bar yet. But at least you won't have to go to hospital :D

One question:

I have 30K euro and i want to spend it to buy some stuffs for my band. I've got 9K on me and when i try to buy a car they say i can't because i don't have enough money. So i guessed that my band doesn't have enough money, can I give so money to the band?

This is from the diary of someone i bumped into in Buenos Aires

Went on a shopping spree and spent 34 457 US$.
Left town on a jet plane.
Improved my skills in Basic Astrology.
Went on a shopping spree and spent 36 316 US$.

That is some shopping spree.

Band money and personal money are separate, unfortunately. Bands can only get money from doing shows and album sales (and that type of thing). You can't pass money back and forth, as far as I know.

I don't know what that translates into US$ but if I had a lot of excess money, I'd look at buying skill books.

Actually, I'm pretty sure band money can be distributed to band members... which I would assume then gets added to their personal money...?

Yes, it can be but since the only way to add to that money is by shows and record sales it's a bad move pretty much as that's the only money you'll ever get to buy equipment and buy/upgrade your tour bus. So you can take the money out but you can never put money in.

It is set up this way to discourage cloning; setting up 1000 characters and getting them all jobs for a few months, coming back and having them all join the band and contribute their money then quit and they start out with an 18-wheeler and 5 star equipment, which would suck for bands who work for it. It also doesn't allow a rich Top Ten band of say five people to split off and each use that advantange to then have five of the Top Ten bands in short order. For example, if Kong were to distribute Luke told me he'd get about 4.1 meeeellion dollars [/Dr. Evil]... So it will never change because it's a key to keeping the game fair. :dunno:

As for using "excess" personal money thats about the amount I recieved as my initial CEO bonus and that's why I've bought the other TBL peeps books and instruments etc. Otherwise it also helps you to be able to always be shopping or gymming without having to worry about that sucking up all of your salary for the week too.

Ooohhhh  "I heard a WHOOOF!" *hears the COPS themesong playing* That's the note you get in your diary when one of the Devs and/or Inquisition teleport into the locale you are in. Somebody's gunna git it! :bustacap:

From a guy who just talked to me's Diary:
Mysterious men in red robes stormed in and tied me down to a drying rack. While spanking me with soft cushions, they told me to behave better in the future... or else!!
Noooooooobody expects the Spanish Inquisition!! :-p

Have you seen the Monty Python 'Spanish Inquisition' sketch(es)? That's what it's based on.

http://people.csail.mit.edu/paulfitz/spanish/t6.html

^^ "the rack"

Also, the comfy chair!!!!

http://people.csail.mit.edu/paulfitz/spanish/t10.html

The tie-together gig was that at some point in an unrelated sketch someone would utter the line "Well, I didn't expect the Spanish Inquisition" and they'd burst in yelling NOOOOBODY EXPECTS THE SPANISH INQUISITION!!! :-p

I've got a pretty cool phenomenon going on right now, it looks like.

My mood is going up... on it's own.

When I got my last experience point, my mood was around the mid 60's. Around that day, my mood suddenly started increasing, and is still going. Maybe talking to the media makes my guy happier...? :dunno:

Hey, do you want a couple songs for Rory to use in concert? I noticed one of the complaints about your show was that not enough songs were played. I think we can give you songs of ours to cover. I think one of my was even a rock song before we made it punk. It might not be a bad idea to fill some space.

Yeah, I pretty much ignore that anymore - I've been getting it for all my shows. ;)

I'll show them, though... I've got a song on the stove right now, and once I get back to NY after my Rio show I'll dedicate my time to more songs. I should have a handful done before my Barcelona show on March 1st. Then we'll see who doesn't have enough songs in their shows! :-p
