Wishlist: TBL Style Facepacks

Dear TBL Community!

Since the first EHM version TBL and myself "produce" Face/ Cardpacks that make the game more enjoyable.
Now after the development stop

, we have plenty of time to fill our EHM2007 with all the Graphic Features it needs

So TBL and I decided to open a wishlist, what means that YOU can deliver your wishes what League/Team should be covered. All Cards will be made in the TBL 2007 Card Style. (Action and Mugshot Combination if possible)

But please note that we also don't have "a secret key" for the "Good Hockey Picture" Chamber on the Web. We must live with the sources that are online. Every Pack i made had and will have some quality standards. So please don't come up with wishes like:
I want A Cardpack for the Bora-Bora Ice Hockey League

Sorry to all people of Bora Bora (especially the hockey players

), but..... no pics- no cards.

I think that we should first cover all the playable leagues. Other leagues facepacks mean that gamers need the unfake DB to have the right names and so be able to see the pic, right? And as we don't all have unfake DB, it would be better to start with leagues where everyone could see every card.

Staff cards would be good too. But i heard there are some problems with the birthdates of many staff members, so that could be an annoying issue

Furthermore, staff would need another type of cards, no? It would be hard to find an actionshot and a mugshot for them

My vote would be that I'd love to see you repeat your NCAA unfaking/facepacks again, that was awesome and was great to have a reliable database to work from that had the full NCAA in it. I know that dynasty game guys would really appreciate it.

I'd second Minty's vote for a NCAA pack.

I'm still going to keep slugging along with my ADM Style Facepacks. Not that there is anything wrong with your cards, I just like to offer people some options. Options are good right?:-p

YES! PLEASE!

I loved the NCAA facepacks with the unfaking in the last version. For me, the only unfaking that really matters is the NCAA. This would be a great way to get the "Frank Gordon"s out of my game and put the Matt Lashoff back in.

Like others have said, staff/non-players would be great but there are difficulties there. Beyond that, maybe some of the younger prospects? Also, what about a generic "filler" card? Rather than use the game's default image, could we use something you've made? It would be cool to have one of your cards but with a silhouette of a player and no name or nation.

I like this idea a lot! I'm going to investigate.

Minty, didn't you recently post the locations of the 'default' player images?

I would like to have a TBL-style facepack for the Canadian Minors (OHL is already done, Q and WHL)!!

Would be nice!!!

Minty, didn't you recently post the locations of the 'default' player images?

I've reworked these before as I thought the regular ones were kind of plain and I particularly disliked the coach icon. They've been a part of my skin projects all along... they are in the skin folder, in 'logos', and the one with _over are the left handed versions

So even though they're a part of a skin, could the generic player and coach cards before replaced in a card style? Nothing against your skins in particular (I really enjoy your graphic work) but I don't use skins. I'm a traditionalist in liking the way the interface comes from SI. Maybe it's a comfort thing? Could a "card" be placed in the skins/logos folder and replace just the unknow players and staff?

Yeah, that's totally do-able. The images are 157x200 pixels and named center.png, defenseman.png, coach.png, etc etc. in the C:\Program Files\Sports Interactive\NHL Eastside Hockey Manager 2007\data\skins\ehm_default\logos folder.

What would you guys like to see in these re-designed cards? Once I get some ideas I could whip em up quick...

A TBL-style facepack for Swedish Elitserien would be appreciated since there is no were to find any good facepacks/cardpacks for Sweden.

My scandinavian mugshot pack covers Sweden, but they are not all great quality as the sources available where not all good.

These are mugshots and not cardshots though.

ok guys....thanks to minty (who challenges me with every PM for the NCAA

) and other veterans ihave no choice but take on my NCAA project again. so first i'll unfake the database from ver.3.0.3. then we'll see how many action/mug cards i can make (not a lot of actionphotos from the collegeteams), so i think i must accept the mugshots for most of the ncaa. but i also thought so before i began with my ohl pack and ended up with 406 of 533 (good percentage).

but don't expect the TBL NCAA Project anytime soon. give me some time for the database and the cards. i'll keep you updated on my progress.

so the wishlist is not dead, but at the moment i can't do whole leagues.

if somebody wishes tbl cards for a team.....so ok, we can speak of that.

If you want to save time finding sources, you are welcome to use all my NCAA pictures from my North America pack for the mugshot part of the cards.

There are pictures of most players from these teams :
- Ferris State Bulldogs
- Nebraska-Omaha Mavericks
- Northern Michigan Wildcats
- Colgate Raiders
- Dartmouth Big Green
- Princeton Tigers
- Colorado College Tigers

D88: you're talking about unfaking the DB?... Does it means that you're working on a TBL unfake project, which only unfake the names and doesn't change anything else (like attributes

)? Would be good since it's impossible to know what has been done on the already existing unfake DB.

If so, NCAA should be top of the list, followed by WHL and QMJHL. Then Europe.

That is exactly what he's talking about, he put one together for us to use along with our Challenges last year and I've been umm "encouraging" him

ever since to do it for 007 too

His was the most stable and reliable DB project EHM has seen I think, as we even used it in Challenges and nobody had issues with it. He was kind enough to correct the NHL oddities which was very nice as well.

The added bonus of course is that it comes with a D88 set of cards to use with the players now that they have reclaimed their real names so it's great for use with any NHL legacy game for example. So however long it takes it's worth it especially now since it will be a much more enduring project now.

Wow! That's great news! For sure it will take some time, but it worth it, no question about that!

I always wanted to see names and arenas unfaked, but i heard so many bad comments about the actual unfaking DB that i never even tried it.

But as D88 is always doing a superb work, i'm sure that this unfaking project will be awesome! Can't wait for it!

WAHOO! Guess in the future I will have to buy some testicles and put at least one add-on into my game. So far have done nothing, because I am old, computer illiterate, and bloody scared to screw things up.

Absolutely nothing. Not one thing. Zippo. Nada. Blank. The same amount of games the Habs will play in the playoffs. The same # of games the Flames will win in the playoffs. The same # of Stanley Cups the Canucks have won. Neil Sheehy's old # in Calgary, John Davidson's in NY for 1 season. The BIG O.

How about someone works on updating the current NHL faces to update them for trades that have gone down this season. Like Chistov no longer is on the Duck's roster, but his pic still is him in a Duck's jersey.

I think updated pictures would be good down the line but I know I would rather see more players with pictures before I saw others updated.
