High shot totals in preseason??
I just started a new game with the Bruins and my first pre-season game was ridiculous. I had 83 shots on goal...what am I doing wrong (or right)?

The only reason this thread didn't get locked is that nobody saw it before responses were made to it. Next time you won't be as lucky. Please follow the rules.

Well, first of all, try to give more descriptive titles to your threads, so that everyone can know what it's all about before reading a single post. This way, users that are looking for the same answers as you will came here more easily.
That said, it's actually impossible to answer your question. It depends on many factors, as your players, your lines, your staff, your tactics, and the individual tactics. Furthermore, it's your first pre-season game. Players aren't in shape yet. And maybe you tried a lot of prospects in this game while your opponent was running his team at full strength. Too many factors to be able to answer you actually
Could you give us more details? This way we should help you better

The computer always seems to use alot of unsigned draft picks in pre season and generelly you cant put any value into those games, except getting your players in game shape. Winning 10-0 with close to 100 shots etc has been very commen from what I have seen, so you arent really doing anything out of the ordinary.Shadd666 wrote: Furthermore, it's your first pre-season game. Forsberg: i've already seen the IA putting their top-team in pre-season games
Not very often, but it occurs sometimes. And you should worry to loose a pre-season game only if you're running your top-team against opponent's prospects! If you're running your prospects, like i usually do, no reason to worry

I have come around to taking EHM pre-season games with a grain of salt. The reason being that I have yet to see a "normal" game... they all usually end up with astronomical numbers. I've even had seasons where my team dominates every pre-season game, but then can't do anything between game 1 and 82 of the regular season.
But then again... the pre-season is nothing more than friendlies - where results and stats are second class to getting your players into shape, and your prospects some time in their future roles.

I've noticed that you can't take pre-season games for real on that game. I mean, unless you coach it yourself and you see that the opposite team is actually using their star players against your own, but even then, that doesn't mean anything. You don't know what kind of tactics they are running themselves.
