TBL gets props in Computer Games Magazine
Not sure if this is the correct forum for this, but feel free to move it if you think it's better somewhere else.
Just wanted to let all you great modders here know that you got a great write-up in the March issue of Computer Games magazine. Brett Todd writes a column called ModSquads where he highlights notable mods for different games. In this month's issue he has a section called, "When You Care to Ice the Very Best" where he highlights some of the custom content made by our favorite modders here.
Some highlights include: "Devils88 is continuing his great work with facepacks ..."
"... another must-have is Minstrel's 2D Team Logo CenterIces."
"Finally, be sure to take a gander at The Blue Line's outstanding strategy guides for EHM 2007."
And of course mention of ehmtheblueline.com
I'm a bit behind on my magazine reading so I'm not sure if this issue is still available on the newsstands. But if you like, I'd be happy to copy the article in full here for you.
Congrats to you all.
BTW - Computer Games magazine is an excellent read for PC games with really well written articles. It's one of my favorites for the quality of it's writing alone.

OK, here is the section on TBL from the magazine.
So congrats all you modders at TBL, your excellent work is getting noticed.
Edit: I forgot to mention that they have a nice picture of the AHL Cards "2007-Style" Pack 1 screen in the article.
I normally don't blatantly plug stuff, but in order to appease the copyright gods, I would encourage anyone interested in PC games to check out their magazine. You can subscribe at Computer Games Magazine It's a lesser known publication that I feel has a more mature angle to it than some of the other gaming magazines out there and has really good articles on things like gaming history, culture, indie games and mods (like at TBL), and even a section on board games. And I think they feature some of the best writers in the video game industry like Henry Jenkins, Kurt Squire, Tom Chick, Kelly Wand, and Cindy Yans, and of course Brett Todd.MODSQUADS by Brett Todd

Eastside NHL Hockey Manager 2007 is one spectacular game all on its lonesome, but it's more than worthwhile to download and install some of the mods available at the Blue Line website. Devils88 is continuing his great work with facepacks and has bolstered his extensive NHL photo collections with an AHL one, featuring 347 pros toiling in the NHL's first and foremost feeder league. And while you're at the site, another must-have is Minstrel's 2D Team Logo CenterIces. This nifty little mod reworks the ice surface displayed during sims so that the ice looks more realistic and team logos are displayed at center. Finally, be sure to take a gander at The Blue Line's outstanding strategy guides for EHM 2007. They nicely break down a lot of the esoterica that are both boon and bane to every SI game ever released, and they particularly help when you're comparing player ratings in order to determine who should be playing center and who should be sitting in the press box.

That's great news! I can't tell you how good it feels to have a reputable publication giving our site and community's work such a great review. It makes me very proud of all of the work we've put into this site and in making addons for EHM 2007. Also, the attitude of our community with everyone happy to help each other out really makes us stand out above other forum communities
Thanks very much for showing us this article, noctambulist
Is there any chance of scanning the magazine article, or taking a rough photo with a digital camera?

To be mentioned is pretty wicked really; and I'm glad that it allows more people to see and enjoy the work we've done with TBL and the projects we've created/host. It's an honor.

Very cool! I'm glad to see some big time props given to all you guys that make the game more enjoyable for us.
It's just too bad the computer game media couldn't help drum up more interest in EHM when it was going on sale. They seem to be big fans of it (the PC Gamer writers were know to be EHM nuts too). Still, if magazines like this keep talking about the game and showing some of the cool things associated with it (like TBL), maybe it will get the game enough interest that it can make a comeback.
