Disappearing post icons? Anyone else have this problem?

Post by Joe »

Whenever I visit the site, a new post icon will be next to (for example) the general chat or graphics forum and then when I click on it, it shows no new post icons inside of the forum itself, but there still are new posts. Then when I go back to the main page, all of the other new post icons are gone as if I had already read the new posts.

Just a minor error I suppose.

Sorry if thats confusing.

So inside the forum, there are actually new posts but the threads don't have the new post icon?

Is it that you browse the site without reading any of the new posts, and then later you come back and they don't have the new post icon?

No, as soon as I click on one of the forums with a new post Icon, its as if doing that makes it so that I've automatically read all the other new posts.

I mean its not a big deal or anything but I'm wondering if other people are experiencing thing problem.

This is a new one to me :-k Try clearing you cookies on your internet browser. Are you running any ad-blocking software?

Is Joe the only user to be having this problem?

I'm running Adblock plus as a firefox extension. I've had it for a while so I don't think thats the problem. Oh and I cleared my cookies so I guess I'll wait for some new posts.

The only thing I can think of is that something (such as an ad-blocker or firewall) is stopping cookies being stored on your computer from our site. The cookies are needed to in order for the site to know what threads/posts you haven't read and therefore to give them the new post icon.

If you trust our site enough, you could add our site to the list of exceptions in Ad-Block Plus. We don't have any ads on our site and so there's no real need to block any TBL site content (unless you don't trust us).
