Challenge 8.1 Toronto Maple Leafs discussion

The first 3.0.4 challenge is with the Toronto Maple Leafs

Remember that you must stay under $36mil salaries and you will be penalised if you go more than $1mil over that amount. It is mandatory that you run the default 3.0.4 database with patch 3.0.4 which can be found at SiGames homepage. Good luck and get challenging!

But...but...would you have done that to Minstrel?

Oh and since this is a Leaf's challenge...everyone who wins the Cup should be automatically penalized -40 bonus points.

Yeah, I had to be the first to do that.

yeah but he would have been able to log on and edit his bonus points anyway, so it would be futile on my part

i am new to the challange and i wanna try it out and give it my best.

i wonder if i understand it correctly.

wage cap 36 mill first seson. 38 second.

stats recording after game 20,40,60 and 82 with play off stats.

when shall i send in finances and leauge standings?

unlimitited number of trades?

and can only trade with and for draft picks for the upcoming draft.

Hey kennec,

I usually send in my finances screenshot with my 20 and 82 game results.

Just for reference here's my post of my end of season results from Challenge 7.1. Check it out.

Obviously, the Challenge Stats Recording Thread is the place to find your answers about posting results.

Other than that, you've got our list of handicaps right on....unless you count playing as the Leafs - which is really the biggest handicap we've had yet!

just to clarify. can i have higher wage in begining of seson but at game 20 it has to be under 36 mil. or do i have to have 36 mill when preseson begins?

The way I've always understood it is that you have to get your salary in range by the first time you record your stats for the challenge, which is the 20 game mark.

It's hard enough just trying to trim this team's salary! They really don't have much to work with for trades. Maple Leafs = Trash!

No just challenging you guys withing the challenge. How about a little wager? Whoever finishes the highest in the challenge of the 4 of us, has the other 3 sport the avatar of the winner's real life NHL team, for a month. With some sort of praise to that person's NHL team in the avatar...I am sure CatchUp could design another pretty Canucks one, saying
"Bruins 72, Minstrel and CatchUp love the Canucks!" or something more brilliant!!

in my first game sundin made 6 points. he was awesome.lucky i cant trade him away hehe

Check the rules thread, or stats recording...in your first post in stats recording thread...you have to say something about reading the rules. The rules/stats recording threads should be the first place you go and read through it again if there is something you are not sure of. Virtually everything is explained. Also read previous chat threads on challenges. They tell you alot of useful information.

As much as I'm not very confident in what I'll be able to do with this team... I'll take your challenge if the other guys will. I don't know how believable "Beantown Rules" would be though. The Bruins are really stinking the town up lately. So aren't the Celtics. It's a good thing we've got the Red Sox and Patriots or this town would be rioting!

I definitely think Archi should be in on the wager if he's offering ideas!

Maybe the custom title the losers of our little wager could be something like "<insert name here> schooled me!"? And maybe we could have a modified version of our avatars with a big stamp across them that says "SCHOOLED"?

But it's going to kill you as a Habs fan to make the Laughs win. Even if you do win our little challenge, it's not a bad consolation prize.
