You're absolutely right. I died a little inside making that Leafs av for Noah, remember this? Image

And it'll be even worse having to lead the Leafs to the Cup! But the reward is worth it...batdad with a Habs av for a month is my dream come true! 8-)

As much as I hate 24 hours, the first sentence of their article RE: the Canucks loss made me laugh out loud walking down Robson today: "We are ALL out of the playoffs." Classic. :joy: lol.

Hehe I'm definitely up for that! I've got to walk the walk if I talk the talk!

I haven't played in the NHL for ages - somehow I think I'll be the one that gets schooled :D

Excellent! So now we're just waiting for Minty to throw his hat into the ring!

I saved my game on my thumb drive yesterday before leaving work so I could play if some at home. I was doing a little work on my game last night and by mid-August, I've got a team I'm not unhappy with. Of course, the true test will be how they perform in the regular season and the playoffs. But on paper, they're looking pretty good! I'm even right at our TBL salary cap!

Well... I'm into the pre season and training camp. The NHL season preview was released and they're only picking us at #15! The middle of the pack! Silly rabbits! We'll show them!

I was 2nd :joy: :-p

I played the first 10 games now. I've tried a lot of new players I've never had before and some new strategies.

Conclusions so far:

- Ouellet is a bad bad (backup) goalie. 15 goals against in 2 games. Thanks for that. I'd be 10-0 if I started Toskala in those games ](*,)

- 6 offensive minded defencemen = funny results; still, anyone care to explain Niedermayer, Campbell and Kaberle how to spell defence ? :-o

- PP 30%, PK 78%, hell yeah :P

- Jason Blake is a monster :notworthy:

2nd line with Zubrus and Wellwood most of the time. He gets to play on the 2nd PP unit as well. However Nilson is my 3rd line LW and he's quite good offensively as well so I let him play on the 2nd line at times.
He's got 17g and 17a in 29 games so far and is +12.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one having problems maing their pk work. I have even gone out and tried to bring in some more defensive players, I've tweaked my tactics and it is not helping. My powerplay is embarrassing as well, but some how I am managing to win games so until I start losing I'll not complain too much. I've now gotten through 60 games.

Have any of you had some success with Sundin? If he didn't get injured for a month he would be on pace for the richard and the art ross in mine. Needless to say I couldn't believe it.

Also the reason I'm already through 60 is because I tend to play in spurts. I will go quite a bit at a game then set it down for a bit and pick it up in a couple weeks

I waived Sundin but he hasn't been picked up. First time I tried it Caps claimed him, but I had to restart because I forgot to activate the minor leagues. At that time I had already McCabe and Kubina offloaded to the Caps so they had no room for Mats. Ended up simply releasing him, I think he signed with the Pens eventually. He's godlike in the game but eating up 20% of the salary...and I needed that space for Niedermayer :P

Yeah my PK sucked in the first 15 games being at something around 75%, but has been around 95% since then. I'm halfway through the season, will report tomorrow.

Vesa is no Nittymaaki

Not so sure about my team. Approaching training camp..not feeling any love for it at all. Have acquired only players I have never made a transaction for with the exception of 1 who was already a leaf(Sundin), and 1 who I had on my fantasy draft challenge team. I am going to keep it this way too. I think I have 4 decent lines but nothing is making me excited about this team.

We shall see...maybe I hit the jackpot after trading away all but 6 Leafs who are on the Leaf roster at the start of the game. I still have BELAK. Cause I love him. :-D He cracks me up

yeah, I'm not sure what's going on with those sabres. I started to roll during the playoffs then ended up going against them in the conference finals and they put me out 4-0.

I've just started the challenge and am trying to trim down my wage bill. I think I'm going to try and keep Sundin on my team. He's pretty darn awesome but I must admit that his $7m contract is really bugging me. The problem is - who would want to take him off me anyway?

I'm concentrating on shipping out McCabe and either Kaberle or Kubina. Hopefully I can get an RW and a D-man in exchange. It's just proving hard to find takers for them ](*,)

Yeah, I'm thinking kennec either missed the part about the TBL budget (as opposed to the one you're given by the game) or he's taking the penalty points for going over.

No he reported it wrong as well. I almost did the same mistake, however in my case the difference was only around 500k. The problem is the rules are misleading.

http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/vi ... .php?t=482

"About Finances in EHM 2007: Finance views have changed since 2005 (I'll update the above screenies when I get a chance) the figure for budget that should be used is the one that displays when you offer a trade to a team. This is also listed on your Finances page as "Est. Averaged Club Salary (p/a)"

While the instruction page in the recording sheet says:

"Lastly your team’s current payroll amount can be found on your team’s ‘Finances’ screen.
In the Cap system these numbers are different than before so make sure you report the correct amount. It’s listed in the lower section of the screen under the 'Salary Breakdown' section. The second to last line has the number of players total on your roster and in the far right has your 'Total' amount."
