Hi Pero, Nice to have new members. I know you are new so I will teach as it is hard to see the search here

I would suggest three things:

1. Use the search function-the magnifying glass in the top right. Search the word "unfaking"
2. Go to the si forums site. Use their search function for "unfaking"
3. Go to Eastsidehockey.uk (or something like that) and search the word "unfaking"

Unfaking is generally the word for databases done outside of SI. :-D

There should be an old unfaking from eastside but since I do not use it...I don't know if it works with 3.04. Kidhander has his beta for a new unfaking out and it is linked to on si forums.

Historical Database Project - Anyone willing to help?

Post by kickbiker »

Hi...

How can I create a player who is currently UFA but will join in the future to some club? That he has agreed a transfer with someone but not currently in their roster..? Or do I just put him as RFA..?

Thanks.

Is it "FUTURE_TRANSFER" "first name "second name" "current team name" "new team name" date fee wage contract_length ?

I just don't know how... :dunno:

"FREE_AGENT_MOVE" "first name "second name" "new team name" date wage contract_length

Here is an example from the Unfaking Database :

"FREE_AGENT_MOVE" "Roman" "Prošek" "HC VCE Hradec Králové" 14 11 2006 10000 1

This guy will join the team on the 14th of November 2006, and get 10000$ wage for 1 year - as I understand it :)

Thanks man!!

I have an idea how to make a historical database without sacrificing new players. I just made, just testing, a player who was born 26.5.05 (when the game begins, he is 1 year old ;)). Then you could put him that future transfer thing. I put 1st July 2015 and 4 year deal. It really works without crashing the game! So basically when he is 10 years old, he will be joined this junior team.

So, how this helps? Well, if a historical season starts for example in 1981, we could add there historical teams like Islanders with Bossy and Trottier, great Oilers etc.. Hell, maybe you could add Bobby Orr too (playing he had no injuries.. :roll:). Then you could add every single prospect who was born 1980 and before (Leca, Gagne, Cheechoo, Big Joe, Luongo etc.). We'll just put Leca as 1 year old and current ability as 1/100 and potential ability what it is. Then we'll put the future transfer to Rimouski (or some other midget team?) so that he will start to play somewhere between 1993 or 1995.

I'm really excited about this thing! We could have lots of fun with it. Of course it takes time and effort to put the database up and running but I'm sure here are lots of fans for different teams, so we can make the database together (with help of different resources in the net)!

What do you think??! ;) Please? :joy:

PS. If save game editors will be enhanced in the future, maybe it's possible to add some real players (Ovechkin, Crosby, Tavares...) (if someone has time to simulate from 1981 to 2000 :-D)?

I tried once adding a 1 year old, and I believe the game automatically changed him to 12 or something. There is some sort of minimum limit.

I said that I put 1 year old and he is 1 year old in the game. Period.

I sincerely hope that some people would like to contribute to this possible project.

I start with the season 1982-1983. If you would like to give attributes for example Wayne Gretzky, Peter Stastny, Denis Savard, Mike Bossy, Marcel Dionne, Barry Pederson, Ray Bourque, Cam Neely etc. it will be really nice! More than you give, the better it might be.

For players who were born in 1981 or before that, I just change some years and histories and stuff like that. Pretty easy.

Anyone interested? 8-) I will put this post to own thread, if no-one answers... :dunno:

Some examples (2006-2007 season = 1982-1983 season in real life). So you need to calculate the right years :-D

"Barry Pederson is a flashy center born in Big River, Saskatchewan on 3.3.1985. He shoots right-handed, weights at 80 kilograms, and is 180 centimetres tall. He was drafted to the NHL by Bruins, as a 1st round pick (18th overall). His best season to date in the NHL was in 05-06 when he totalled 92 points (44 goals/48 assists) in 80 games for Bruins. That year, he spent 53 minutes in the box."

Barry Pederson

.
.
.

"Axelsson is a playmaking winger born in Kungälv, Sweden on 1.5.99 (7 years old :razz:). He shoots left-handed, weighs in at 83 kilograms, and 176 centimetres (he is 9 cm too short, cause he is young) in height."

I don't know how to put realistic weights for under aged players... :roll:

"Offers: Västra Frölunda HC J20 - transfer arranged for Friday 1st July 2016."

"P.J. Axelsson needs to be drafted before he can be signed. He is too young for the upcoming NHL Entry Draft, however he will become draft eligible in 2017"

How much more proof you need? ;)

It's really sad, if no-one have an interest to help or something.. :roll: Still people talk that old databases would be fun. :rant:

Seeing as your first post asking for intersested parties came only 22 minutes before this one, I'd suggest giving people a little more time to respond before you get bent out of shape about it. :-x

That's wierd. It never worked for me. Maybe they changed it for the newest patch :-k

Anyway, if it works, then it's a pretty nice idea :)

I would love to help, but I don't know enough about hockey in those days.

Kickbiker - you need to be more patient. I know you're new so you're probably not aware that during the weekend our forums are pretty quiet. Wait until further into the week to see whether anyone is interested.

Also, this thread was originally regarding a question about contracts - that's what the title said too. If you start going off-topic to get interest in a project you're starting, people won't be aware because that's not what the thread title said. You should have started a new thread.

I was tempted to split this thread in two but I've decided to just rename the title instead. Maybe that'll help ya.

I try to be patient... ;)

I have seen some people here who are hard-core Bruins and Blackhawks fans. If they could help, it would be nice. I remember players names from years backwards but I really can't figure out their main attributes. You don't need to put every single attribute but main ones I want to have - and potential and current abilities. Gretzky will be 200/200 (creativity 20, anticipation 20, passing 20 etc.) and Lemieux almost the same.

Thanks for your help and thanks for archibalduk for changing the topic... ;)

Ok, here is the stuff I can help with :

Change danish teams into :

Herlev Hornets --> Herlev IC
Herning Blue Fox --> Herning IK
Nordsjælland Cobras --> Rungsted IK
Odense Bulldogs --> Odense IK
Rødovre Mighty Bulls --> Rødovre IK
SønderjyskE --> Vojens IK

Delete all other danish teams from Danish First Division and Danish Junior League

Thanks!

Something to start with :thup:

Couple of things though...

1) I can't delete teams from leagues which are playable. Otherwise the game will crash... :dunno: I will just leave the players screen blank.

2) It seems that deleting players with the pre-game editor is quite impossible... Do you know how to delete players..? :roll:
If it's impossible, I will try this on the future (if someone still plays the game :-D).

The Danish First Division, and Danish Junior League aren't playable, so the teams in them should be able to be deleted.

Set them as "Invalid" - it removes them from the game, so is almost like deleting them :)

Just a thought.

Maybe you should create the Soviet Union as a nation.

Either that, or make sure that all players from Russia, Belarus, Latvia (etc. etc. etc.) are all contracted to their clubs until 1989-1990, and have no NHL release clause - to simulate these players not being able to leave the Soviet Union until its collaps in the late 1980s.

I try! :D

I think this will be quite big to handle. I really need someone else to modify with me. I could send the database with MSN Messenger or something...

Hey Kickbiker,

I would be willing to help, i have quite a lot of free time at the moment, as i am off from college for a couple of weeks, im not too good with the "old" NHL, as i am only 17, but i would sure love to help and would sure love to see this database work. I know what im doin when it comes to the database side of things (i think), as i have made some changes to several databases.

If you want, id give up some of my free time to help with anything you would like me to do.

We can talk over msn messenger if you like to try to set this thing going. PM me and i will send you my email address.

Thanks.

Getz.
