Bonus Clauses

Post by SkipMcGoo »

When trying to sign players the bonus clauses are greyed out and I can't access them. What do I have to do to make them active?

Bonus clauses are only available to certain players thanks to the new CBA. So if they are greyed out that player isn't eligible for them.

It seems like it's greyed out on every player though. From prospects to veterans.

That's because most people can't get them. Let me find a link that says who can get them.

PERFORMANCE BONUSES

What players may earn in performance bonuses?
Performance bonuses will only be permissible for the following types of players: (1) players on entry-level contracts; (2) players signing one-year contracts after returning from long-term injuries (players with 400 or more games who spent 100 or more days on injured reserve in the last year of their most recent contract); and senior veteran players who sign a one-year contract after the age of 35.

Thanks for that post Nazzy, I had the basic idea of how the bonuses worked with younger players but I didn't know I could do the same thing for players coming off serious long-term injuries.

Thanks for that, I've been meaning to ask this also but I never got around to it. I always wondered why I kept reading about guys like Hasek(IRL) getting bonuses but I was never able to offer them in game.
