After 60 games I could not be more surprised. This team is outperforming my wildest dreams. Arkhipov almost a point a game, Blunden a point every 2nd game. heatley, Handzus, Havlat, Vrbata lighting it up. My defense is way more solid than I thought it would be. And both Emery and Lalime have played really well for who they are.

Emery- 26-5-3 2.68 .907 3 shutouts.
Lalime 19-6-1 2.86 .899 3 shutouts

I am in shock. At least at all of this, with the exception of my naff power play. I know I know...always the pp. I just cannot figure it out. Maybe I never will. But if I do...holy rubbish. :-D

Dream is over ''

Facing Flyers at Stanley Cup Final my team, without Havlat e Regehr, let me down losing the 3 last games in the final minutes. '](*,)'

Anyway for the next season i can dump Holmqvist, Hamilton & Bourque and search for 2 good free agents.

Corinth, did you make them pay? Personally I would have sent out the goon squad. My philosophy is no matter what they are taking a beating. It can be on the scoreboard or on the ice, but the other team is taking a beating. Especially if they take 3 in a row in the last few minutes.

Hey thunderbug!

Sure i tried to hurt Forsberg, Gagne and co. I like to play a defensive kind of game really strong checking, so my last 3 games i played with berserk mode and very hard hitting mode, but even so two losses in overtime (silly goals i think).
I assume that my team lacked more talent up front since the difference between Hawks and Flyers is that every Flyers Line have a Good Guy (1st Forsberg, 2 Carter, 3 Richards) and strong supporters like (Gagne, Knuble). Smart Coach he always mixed lines at great speed. I coudn't find a way to stop them. Fun at least!

Anyway I didn' sign a free agent e my trades were thinking about future.

Trades 1st Season

I hope i can Make a good use of 1st Col pick. Hey bruins72 nice blog!'=D>' gave some ideias ':-D'

Thanks! I'm glad you're enjoying it. I'm also glad to see it's giving some ideas too. I've been trying to let people see how I'm going about things in the challenge under the new rules because I figure it might help out. Plus, I just like to talk about my team. :-p

Worrell for Lady Bing ':-o' How so? in my 1st season Connolly won Lady Bing and said I'm a great GM ''

I finnished my Draft: with 15 pick from Colorado - Malekhin, and 28 pick - Seleznev (good call bruins72).
also: 50 pick - Polinin & 58 pick Turris ; 88 pick Tsyganov & 90 pick Dale Mitchell ; 118 Jordan Cheechoo (well good number at least) & 148 Michal Klejna ( my best finding , great numbers) ; 167 Kaine Geldart & 178 Patrick Asselin and the 7th pick Zhelobnyuk ( i need a golie ).

First round was boring no surprises like 1st pick elected 1st ranked and so on.

Oh my oh my...

Horrible news, my computer crashed, and I cant get it to start again. Need to seek professionals for this now.

Stuck with my OLD laptop now, too slow for EHM. I hope Ill be able to save the stuff on my HD. Might also need to give up the challenge if I cant recover the saves...

Im about 15 games into season 3...

But the saves arent the worst part.
I have 250+ GB of mp3s there... Im a music freak, with no backups.
And loads of pictures of my son - from when he was born up until now (6months).
And pictures from my wedding... japanese style with kimono and all, but friends and family have some of those pics at least.

I really need to learn to take more backups

Oh Lidas...that royally sucks. Let us know when you get the techies on it, and if your games are saved etc. Then we will go from there.

MOre importantly that you find the photos of your son and the tunes. That is such a pain in the arse. I hate computers sometimes.

Hey Lidas
I'm sorry for you, it's frustrating when things like that happens. I'm a massive collector of mp3 (blues mostly) and i use DVD-RW to backup.

Just noticed somthing.

Chicago doesn't have a 2008 2nd round draft pick. Do we have to trade for one to be legal?

Same question came from Rookier at almost the same time, in another thread. We will answer this here...soon. My first reaction is no you do not need to trade for one..it is just trading the pick away (for other players) that is the problem, but I want to make sure B72, CatchUp, Shadd are on the same page.

Okay...so we have chatted. Anyway..it is as I say. Since Chicago does not have a 2nd round pick, they just don't have one. No need to trade for another one. However...you must keep the first as per the rules. :-D

Okay...so my blog is not ready yet for playoffs. I will do that tomorrow/Monday. I won the Cup. I am shocked...especially after I lost 8-0 to Columbus in one playoff game. and then I think I lost the next one too. But the team ... especially Havlat seemed to just roll in the playoffs. Havlat was clutch...all the time.

The 6 million dollar man is making me rethink what I had planned for my core for year 2. I may have to make a couple of other moves just cause he was awesome in the playoffs.

OMG...UFB!!!! :-o

I immediately gave him an offer for the AGM position, but he wasn't interested. I left the offer open. [-o< They just fired the best GM in the world!!! My guess would be he will retire.

IRL I'm sure Lou can fire Vanderbeek if he'd want to. :-p

Well, yeah! Lamoriello is the CEO of the franchise so he can do pretty much whatever he wants.

In the game, when he have been fired he usually retires. But hey, I had Scotty Bowman go on until he turned 84 as a AGM in my frm Red Wings game ;)

WOW! I can't imagine Lou ever leaving the Devils. They'll have to pry his cold dead hands from his desk when he dies. That's the only way they'll ever get him out of there.

In my game I just had a little bit of a funny thing happen. Ted Nolan left the Islanders on June 30th. I'm assuming that was because his contract expired. It took them until October 16th to get him back under contract. They didn't hire anyone else in between. They were without a coach that whole time and after all that, they brought back the same guy.

On my team, I lost Michalek for about a week and didn't feel like calling any of my farm team guys up to cover, so I moved Hollweg up from the 4th line to the first. I figure his speed and toughness would be good with Handzus and Vrbata. His first full game up with that line (including PP), he scores a hat trick! I might have to keep an eye on this line.

Hee. Bill Wirtz and Pully just retired in mine. Guess winning the cup was just too much for them. Old farts!

But in my game for the first time ever, Buffalo resigned Lindy Ruff without him becoming unemployed for any length of time. I have managed to steal him as my coach in several other games. Never bothered in a challenge though, except Fantasy Draft one...because I can't justify firing a Stanley Cup winning coach! :-D

Hollweg? A hatty? Wow!
