Jim Playfair is not UFA but "associate coach" LINK (scroll down under Keenan's bio)

So i guess he should be considered as an assistant coach :dunno:

At the moment the update only covers GMs, Assistant GMs, and Head Coaches so that's why he's currently a UFA

For Detroit;

I'm pretty sure Josh Langfeld wasn't resigned by them. I'm not sure if he has signed anywhere else yet. He's just signed for NAS. It's been added to the update

Also, Igor Grigorenko. He signed a deal with Detroit. But he has clause with a Russian team where if he get sent to the AHL, he goes back to Russia. In EHM, DET own the rights to this player. As he's still relatively young, I'm classing him as a prospect. This means that I'll leave him with his Russian team so he can develop for a year. It will then be the choice of the GM in EHM to sign him as or when he sees fit.

And lastly, Jonathan Ericsson should be signed by Detroit. In EHM, DET own the rights to this player. As he's still relatively young, I'm classing him as a prospect. This means that I'll leave him with his current team so he can develop for a year. It will then be the choice of the GM in EHM to sign him as or when he sees fit.

Hasn't Oleg Tverdovsky signed with a Russian team? The only source I could find was Spectors site, and it doesn't say what team he signed with. DONE

Bruins Changes

Post by dotcanada »

From the Bruins Website:

Scouts no longer with club: Daniel Dore, Bill Lesuk
Scouts now with club: Alexei Dementiev, Grant Sonier, John Weisbrod

Assistant coaches no longer with club: Marc Habscheid, John Whitesides
Assistant coaches now with club: Craig Ramsay, Geoff Ward

Don Sweeney no longer a scout, but the Director of Hockey Operations and Player Development.

Phil Kessel is not making $2.2 mill a year, he is still making the rookie maximum $850,000

Thanks dot. Again, so everyone knows the only staff that have been completed at this time are GM's Assistant GMs and Head Coaches. So thanks for the notes dotcanada for when we get around to doing this.

Phil Kessel's cap hit like every other rookie player IN REAL LIFE is considered to be the rookie max plus the bonuses he receives under the entry level cap. Although, now that I think about it the other guys in EHM game were taking .850 hits...hmmm. Not sure where their bonuses were. But if Kessel received some bonuses..then I can see this salary increase IN EHM...and all others who made theirs too.

John Erskine from the Caps just signed a 2 year extension.
Varlamov was signed to a 3 year entry level deal as well. In EHM, WAS own the rights to Semen Varlamov. As he's still relatively young, I'm classing him as a prospect. This means that I'll leave him with his Russian team so he can develop for a year. It will then be the choice of the GM in EHM to sign him as or when he sees fit.

Also any chance to change the Caps colors to the new Red WHite and Blue?

These things will happen in due time. I believe that the color changes are noted as a to do in the announcement thread, and changes made since the original beta came out will be added in as time permits. Promise.

Thanks for all of the mistakes you've spotted so far. Keep 'em coming! I'll start working on these today.

Contracts are probably going to be the sticking point because they can be quite difficult to find the exact figures. To update the contracts I was using nhlscap.com which was last updated on the 20th Aug. So If I can find a decent source I will try to do all contracts signed/renewed since that date.

What's the deal with the two Chris Chelios's? I spotted that when I was updating contracts but thought I'd leave it to the public beta to find out whether there actually ought to be two or not. I haven't added any new players or edited any names so I don't know where it came from. Is there in fact supposed to be two Chris Chelios's or should the younger one be deleted?!

As Batdad rightly pointed out, I entered Kessel's cap hit rather than his basic salary because this will give the team's a more realistic overall salary spend compared to the cap. On a semi-related note, the way in which I did the contract expiry dates was to go by the length of the contract rather than the real-life expiry date (thus helping to simulate the 2007-08 season in EHM). Thus if Player X has a four year contract expiring in 2011 then in EHM he will also have a four year contract. Since EHM starts in the 2006-07 season this means his contract in EHM will expire in 2010.

There is actually a second Chris Chelios in the TBL DB.
He is retired though, but somehow you managed to convince him to do a shocking comeback. :hockey:

I believe that the TBL:DB did NOT make another Chris Chelios, and that he was involved before the DB

Just to let anyone who finds a contract mistake (i.e. I've missed a contract renewal) know that I've updated contract renewals/signings upto today. Previously they were only upto 20th August.

So there are also 2 Chris Chelios's in real Life both born in Chicago. One 1962 we all know , the other born in 1974 a minor leaguer (and retired in the db).....look at the link from hockeydb. it's all correct in the DB.

Love the project but this cant be right? : "CAP_PENALTY" "New York Islanders" 375000 2009, surely the Yashin buyout has a higher and longer cap hit then that?.

Ps. Kings Lubo has a 1.824 mill contract lasting to 2012 in game, but in rl he signed a 5.65 million per season 5 year deal according to http://www.insidesocal.com/kings/2007/0 ... tract.html. But didnt he stand to make make 1.9 mill this season and then the expansion kicks in 08/09?. My mistake! I've corrected his salary so it's an average of his six year contract (the one year remaining on his current one + his five year extension. This average is $5,050,333 p/y.

I haven't touched the cap penalties. They're from the original 3.0.3 EHM database. As a year has passed, however, I should shorten those penalties by a year. If I can find information about the new cap penalties then I'll add them.

I found that here are two Ronald Petrovicky in the database.
The older of them should be Robert Petrovicky. He signed for Leksands IF this season,
which I intend to update in the DB. I've corrected his name.

Archi/Tasku-- I will note this for you. I am 100% sure I am correct, but not 100% sure if this is on the list as a todo, or needs to be corrected.

Just downloaded and briefly looked at the Canucks.

Two comments

1. Kevin Bieksa...signed a 3 year extension. TSN DONE

His contract breakdown should be as follows IN EHM

2006-07 Salary: $550,000 CAP HIT $550,000
2007-08 Salary: $4.25 Mill CAP HIT: 3.75 mill
2008-09 Salary: $3.5 mill CAP HIT: 3.75 mill
2009-10 Salary: $3.5 Mill CAP HIT: 3.75 mill

2. The extension contracts should not be averaged for cap hit for the first season. Using the example above (Bieksa):

2006-07 Bieksa cap hit should be .550 from his old contract. Then for 2007-08 in EHM it would move to his new 3.75 mill contract as his cap hit (Average of the 3 year extension)

I mention this because of the Lubo notes above. If his contract is an extension of an old contract his cap hit for this season (EHM 06-07, RL 07-08) would be under his old $ value...1.824, and his new cap hit would not begin until 07-08 in EHM which would be 08-09 in real life. This new cap hit would be the average value of the dollars paid out over the years of his new extension.

Hope the above makes sense. Now...if it does not let me know. If it is not possible to do this with the editor, also let me know.

:-D
