Okay...more Canucks

Canucks sign Brad Moran, Greg Classen and Jason Jaffray

No $ mentioned for these. All are 2 way contracts, NHL minimum $457K I believe, for 1 year. From the radio when I heard the announcements, so there ya go. None of them are eligible for waivers.

They also have Patrick Coulombe on the same kind of contract for one more season...2007-08 real life, 2006-07 in EHM.

Jaffray and Coulombe are with the Moose. Classen is listed with the Hamburg Freezers, and Moran is listed as an RFA for Vancouver...he is not really a prospect.

OK forget about Moran...he is an unsigned prospect in the Orignal DBase from SI. Oops. A 27 year old...ugh. So leave him there

DONE Moran & Classen. Moran is 27 so bringing him into the NHL in 2006 won't really harm any development.

Haven't done Jaffray and Coulombe. Not sure what to do about them. I'd put them in the same boat as prospects in that they're still young and arguably need that extra year in the juniors to properly develop. What do you think?

With Jaffray and Coulombe both have played 2 years in the minors in real life, so I don't see what the harm would be. Plus honestly, neither of them is really going to develop that much.

Colorado Avalanche

NHLScap for the Avalanche. Seems very reliable as terms reported in all other places match this site well.

Add:

1. Jaroslav Hlinka. He Hhs a $600K 1 year, two way deal. Was with Sparta Praha...now Colorado signed as UFA June 1.

2. Jeff Jillson 1 year $500K, 2 way...as per site above in Hlinka notes.

3. Dale Purinton 1 year, 2 way $475K according to site above avalanchedb.com

DELETE (from Av's roster only...not sure if UFA/RFA so may be best to leave as is unless can find more info):

There are several guys who had contracts last year in Colorado, who had them expire. Not sure where they are now. Can't seem to find info on them...they are all minor leaguers. I have checked several sites. Maybe others can find more.

Joe Scott
Frantisek Skladany
Ryan Steeves
Tomas Slovak
Tom Lawson

DONE

With regards to the five free agents, I've set them all to UFAs. They're not on the NHL list so I'll assume they're UFAs (unless anyone can show otherwise) because they're no longer on the Avs' roster. Maybe they'll be picked up by one of our other researchers in another league.

Calgary Flames

Add

1. David Van der Gulik . 1 year remaining on entry level deal. He is at $560 K for the season, but the average of the deal was $547,500 so with only the one year left..this is what his contract should be enteres as.

2. Brad Cole--Undrafted, signed as free agent. 3 year entry level deal.Cole signing

From NHLscap...it is $543,333 each year for the terms of the deal do to the bonus structure. So just enter it this way, since noone knows the bonus breakdown.

That is all. Calgary was easy!

I haven't done either of these. I need your opinion as whether to add these two. It's the same issue as before - are they too young to move to the NHL? Is that extra year in the juniors going to help them realise their potential and more accurately simulate real-life?

With regards to Van der Gulik, CGY already have the rights to him in EHM so the GM can decide when/whether to sign him at any point. So that's no problem really. It's just Cole that I'm concerned about.

Hmm...Van Der Gulik in my game had no rights...weird. I will check him again. Assign Cole though I think just so that he gets his rights to the correct team. If he is young enough, can send him back, since I believe he still has junior rights.

Edmonton Oilers

Salaries and cap hit from nhlscap.com

ADD:

1. Sebastien Bisaillon Undrafted player, no rights for anyone in EHM and no team. Oilers have him under entry level deal $500,000. Will be RFA after first EHM season. Not done - same reasons regarding youth and currently in juniors.

2. Tom Gilbert

Has 1 year left on contract with Oilers..$835 plus cap hit of $907,500 k re bonuses achieved in 2006-07. Just set his 1 year salary as $907,500 straight. Again numbers from site above.

In EHM right now, Gilbert has no team and no rights assigned. He was part of the Tommy Salo deal, and played a few games for the Oil last year IRL. DONE

3.TJ Kemp

Signed 1 year, 2 way $475,000 deal Jul 2007, as per site above. In EHM he is listed as being with Reading Royals of the ECHL, no NHL rights attached. DONE

Forsberg:

#1...The Clark extension will be got to. It is after the date this is up to date to so far. Do not worry

#2...Halak is a prospect unsigned in EHM from original DB, and will remain that way most likely. We have said that 10 times. Unsigned prospects will remain unsigned for reasons archi has explained above, and in other threads.

Note from Archi: Halak has actually played for Hamilton since the 05-06 season. He played 16 games for Montreal last season so I think he ought to be in the roster despite being an unsigned prospect in the original SI DB. It seems like SI may have missed him. I've signed him for Montreal and moved him down to the Hamilton affiliate

Chicago Blackhawks

NHSLSCap

Add

1. Jordan Hendry (actually in the game as a fake...Michael Bell...see below.) If leaving fake player...just make sure has the contract below.

Interesting, he is not even in EHM that I can see. Played at Univ Alaska Fairbanks...and last 2 years in Norfolk in real life. He has a 1 year deal (at least left on a deal) $475K/2 way and will be RFA at end of season. DONE and renamed

2. Prestin Ryan

Signed as UFA...1 year deal $525,000 2 way. He is RFA in the game with rights assigned to Vancouver. This is incorrect. he was UFA, and signed by Chicago. DONE

3. Jean-Claude Sawyer

Signed as UFA...3 year deal $500, $500, $525...cap hit is $508,333. 2 way contract. In EHM he is UFA, not with any team. Not done - same reason as always! He's in the juniors with Cape Breton.

Not with Hawks

1. Michael Bell...not given qualifying offer after 06-07 season. released to Free Agency. No word on where he is now. Hmm...after looking at this...I am wondering if Michael Bell is a "faked" version of Jordan Hendry for some reason. Same birthyear, same position, neither ever drafted. Both under contract..but no mention of Bell in hockeydb.com or eurohockey.net (He is Canadian apparently, as is Hendry...leaving note for D88 on this one. I have CONCLUSIVE PROOF> I AM RIGHT> MICHAEL BELL IS JORDAN HENDRY!! WAHOO>>> Proof to the thread for D88 to see.

2. Chris Durno--UFA not resigned. Not sure where he has gone now. DONE

batdad wrote:1. Kevin Bieksa...signed a 3 year extension. TSN

His contract breakdown should be as follows IN EHM

2006-07 Salary: $550,000 CAP HIT $550,000
2007-08 Salary: $4.25 Mill CAP HIT: 3.75 mill
2008-09 Salary: $3.5 mill CAP HIT: 3.75 mill
2009-10 Salary: $3.5 Mill CAP HIT: 3.75 mill

2. The extension contracts should not be averaged for cap hit for the first season. Using the example above (Bieksa):

2006-07 Bieksa cap hit should be .550 from his old contract. Then for 2007-08 in EHM it would move to his new 3.75 mill contract as his cap hit (Average of the 3 year extension)

...

Hope the above makes sense. Now...if it does not let me know. If it is not possible to do this with the editor, also let me know.

:-D
We can only set one yearly wage for players using the Editor. We can't set one wage for the first season and then a second wage for subsequent season. So that means we have to enter the average cap hit as a player's wages. In your example above I would set the Bieksa's contract to a four year contract with a wage of $2.95m per year:

0.55 + 3.75 + 3.75 + 3.75 = $11.8m total cap hit
11.8m divided by 4 years = $2.95m average cap hit per year.

That's the best we can do. We can't use the Editor to add contract extensions - we just have to calculate the average cap hit and use that instead.

Seeing all these posts, I just feel that I have to add that Im proud of working with all of you on this update.

Usually, I do all these things by myself. Im a perfectionist, and I dont like downloading updates,
because I believe that they would have more errors than if I would do them myself.

But... here at TBL, Ive found people as dedicated and serious as myself when undertaking a project,
and I can be sure that anything I download from this site is of the highest standard.

Thanks everyone who are helping out creating a better EHM! :groupwave:

This project truly has been a community effort. It's great fun to be working on this together rather than alone. It also makes my job a hell of a lot easier and it'll result in a much more polished final version :joy:

Beta version 0.2 is out now (LINK). It incorporates all of the corrections mentioned so far in this thread.

Frustratingly I'm going to lose my internet connection now for a while. I have no idea for how long (it depends on how quickly the company will install it for me). Tasku is very kindly taking over this project during my absence.

Note to Tasku: I've done all corrections above this post. Anything posted below this post will have to be done by you

Arch: I made comments in green in some spots. I agree about the youngsters that have rights attached to NHL teams..just leave them. However, the ones that do not in EHM..should at least have that done for them...so that they are on the correct squads. They can still go to junior, or wherever..but rights should at least go to the teams. The issue is that they for the most part..were undrafted.

As for Van Der Gulik and Lacoste ?? CBJ Goalie...in the game I loaded they had no rights with anyone. So I will double check them

Assigning NHL rights to those that currently have no rights sounds like a good idea

I checked whether van der Gulik and Lascoste had rights using the Editor. Maybe the rights need to be redone (i.e. remove their NHL rights in the Editor and then add the rights again) if they're not showing up in EHM.

I've passed the DB over to Tasku earlier today so you'll need to contact him to say which players need NHL rights added.

Patrick Coulombe - Vancouver
Greg Classen - Vancouver
Brad Cole - Calgary
Jean-Claude Sawyer - Chicago
Darcy Campbell - Columbus
